I have an organ scan during my 21st week.  I really hope its the only u/s I have.  Can't wait to find out the sex of the babe.

Just had mine (17.5 weeks), everything looks good and got visual confirmation it's a girl. smile.gif

Yay!  I'm at the end of August, so if y'all are all having yours, mine is coming.  This is the first child that we've chosen to see a midwife for in a while, kinda excited about seeing the baby.  Sheepish.gif

That's great, Somegirl! Mine is tomorrow morning and I'm nervous. Ack!

My anatomy scan this morning (18w4d) went great! What a sigh of relief. :-) We also got visual confirmation that we're having a boy.

The only bummer is that I have marginal placenta previa, which explains the bleeding I had last week and the intermittent spotting. My doc advised that I avoid exercise and intercourse and just "take it easy". It should resolve itself in the coming months.

I asked my doctor about placenta previa and he said early on it can be lower but as your uterus grows your placenta will naturally move up. I know spotting is scary, especially after miscarriages, I'm in a similar situation with spotting after 3 MC from a subchorionic hemorrhage.

That's no fun, Edelweiss. I think knowing that this is not a danger to my baby at this point helps, but the spotting definitely does a number on my emotions. I hope your SCH clears up soon! I've had those, and it's such a mind game.

I had marginal placenta previa with my first, discovered at the anatomy scan.  It resolved on its own and just had to have one more scan at 32 weeks to make sure. I had a normal vaginal delivery with no complications from it. Hope the same for you!

Sounds as though the scans are going well for all so far smile.gif

Thanks, Jill! That makes me feel a lot better. I think a friend of mine had marginal previa at about 20 weeks, and she delivered vaginally as well.

I just got to read your update...I'm so happy your little boy is ok and things are going well. I hope the previa resolves!!

Yes, great news coffee bean! I have my scan a week from tomorrow and am debating taking my boys with me again. They REALLY like seeing the baby, but it was hard having them with me when I got bad news at the NT scan. Even though we've now had another u/s (when we had an amnio) that showed a well developed heart for that gestation, and we've gotten clear amnio results, I'm still nervous that something will go wrong again. Not sure what to do. Hmmm...

I understand, mellybelly. I've had a really hard time taking DH and DD with me for ultrasounds during this pregnancy, mostly because I've had so many bad ultrasounds in the past. For me (and this is just me!), I've just had to push past the fear of something going wrong and embrace the good things that are happening now. I probably tell myself every day that this baby is healthy, the ultrasounds and tests say so, and my bad luck is behind me. :-) I suppose it's becoming my mantra, and it really helps.

It is scary taking kids to u/s, I think. I was so afraid of finding out we miscarried but I had to take my daughter with me because we got sent right after my appt and my husband wasn't with me. The baby was alive at that one and sadly died a couple of weeks later. Now she's going to them all because I don't want to be alone if I find out any bad news so my husband, she and I go to all my u/s.

Good news Coffeebean.

I have mine in two weeks and am getting nervous, but excited to see this little jumping bean for the first time and hopefully the last u/s for this pregnancy.

DD hasn't been to any of mine (I've had 3) and DP has just been to one - the one at 9 weeks. They will both come to my next midwife appointment (they haven't been to one yet) but unfortunately my DP has to work for our anatomy scan....I'll take DD with me and see if someone else can come with us to be with DD just in case.

I've had many bad u/s too but sadly I'm sort of meh about it and not sure if having anyone there would help or not at this point.

I was told anywhere from 18 to 22 weeks would be ok. Of course I wanted to go as soon as possible, but it turned out they couldn't get a great view of the baby at 18 weeks and I have to go back in two weeks to re-check some things. They couldn't see his heart well enough to check all the chambers, and they scared me half to death by saying he may have a heart issue. With further questioning it turned out they just couldn't see well enough to get a good view of everything. I am a bigger girl, so that probably had a lot to do with it. From my experience, I'd say if you are a little fluffy to try to wait a little longer if you can just because there is the chance that they won't be able to see as well and you'll have to do a repeat.

We had our organ scan today and it is a GIRL!!  Everything looked great and we don't have to have another u/s until 36 weeks and that is just to check on the baby's size.  Yay!!

Congrats on your girl Cathy!!
