Gilbert's Syndrome/Disease

Hope this is posted in the right place! My 16 mo. old son and I were just diagnosed with Gilbert's Syndrome. The medical community calls it asymptomatic, but I am certain it's not. I just would love to know some other mama's who have it or have babies/kids dealing with this so we might share some tips/ideas. I find even most of the more natural providers/naturopathic doc's I have sought out are unsure about how to treat this. Currently, I'm pregnant with number 2 and both DS and I have high bilirubin (~2) so I know our livers are struggling. Frustrated, looking for support  Would love to know you and your experience if you are also dealing with this!

I only recently heard of this and wondered if I may have it... I've had elevated bilirubin levels occasionally over the years without any other issues, but no Dr. ever mentioned it.

You might, it's fairly common although it doesn't feel like it is! Normally, if your levels are high they want to rule out liver disease/other liver problems. Many times GS is a diagnosis of exclusion, but in my case they did the gene test. The fact that you don't have any symptoms is good though!

The last time I had a high level was maybe 4 year ago. I've had a butt load of liver testing since then thanks to pre-e with my last pregnancy, and thankfully everything looked good.
