We did the Verifi test at about 11 weeks and it was the same deal, we're expecting to pay $230 or thereabouts out of pocket after it gets refused by our insurance... but I haven't seen the bill yet so crossing my fingers that the total isn't the $1200 they change the insurance company. The promise was that we pay the $230 whether or not our insurance covers it, and that's the total. 

I am grateful to have had this option, we tested because our odds of downs (I'm 32) came back at 1/15. I was so relieved to hear that the results were negative. It was a really stressful time.

I'm so happy you got this good result as well!!  And that's the same info we got, we pay the $237 but they will file insurance just so they can deny it.

Doesn't it seem crazy that they say it'll cost so much, but oh, if your insurance doesn't cover it, you'll only have to pay this much smaller amount? I mean, why not just charge the smaller amount to begin with? Seems insurance would be more willing to cover it at the lower rate.
