I am 28 weeks pregnant with a little girl, and I was wondering why my MW is not doing this. My blood pressure is always very low, so maybe she isn't worried about pre-eclampsia? I'll ask her at my next appointment, but I was just curious.

I never had it done until I was preggers with my third - it's not standard of care with military doctors...

I've done it with my MW in all of my pregnancies, but when I asked her this time, she said they found there's no evidence for checking urine routinely, so they don't do it anymore.

I never had it done in either pregnancy.  I attended a hospital-based midwife practice.

Pre-eclampsia is more common in the third trimester. I can see there not being much of a point in testing before that. I do feel like there can be a benefit to testing during the third trimester.

I'm at 37 weeks and haven't had one done.

I certainly recommend talking to your midwife about anything that's keeping you curious.

I didn't have any urine checks until I hit about 35 weeks - now they do them every week. Not sure if it's because I'm late in the pregnancy or because they got a high BP reading at one of my recent appointments.
