No village here. Raising kids alone - Page 2
Village? What is that?
You are definitly not alone...I am a single parent raising my 5 year old granddaughter...ALONE....I moved home but have been gone so long my sister really doesn't want a relationship since she started seeing her new man..My parents are all about my neice and her babies so we don't go around them much...They really don't care for my child and I don't know why..she is a loving sweet little girl. But she isn't their blood and they can't get past that...the rest of the family just tolerates our presence..So we don't go much...I don't leave L with anyone except the school and afterschool program while I work and she has never been left with a sitter...When I moved home it was in the hopes of rekindling old friendships...My friends had all either moved away or just wern't interested..
So...it is just L and I...we stay to ourselves..I alone go to her TBall games...I alone go to her school functions...I alone give her love and attention the way a family member should..Her Biomothers family would love to see and take her but they are all child molesters and crazy so she won't ever go to them for a visit...My family can be quite mean to her so I don't leave her with them either..
At least you have your husband...I am considering having another child just so L won't grow up alone...Plus I do want another child...But I am going into it knowing we will be on our own...
So we attend church as a little family
So we celebrate L's birthday as a little family as most of my family wouldn't/and haven't shown up in the past.
So we are just our own little family..
Yes it is lonely but as least we have each other...For that I am truely thankful...
