Pregnancy tests

I'm trying for a baby but it's been quite a while since I had my first two and I need some advice about which pregnancy tests to use. There are so many different kinds out there now since I last bought one. Is it worth buying one from a supermarket? How accurate are they?

I've been looking at the tests you can buy online, like this http://www.healthtestingcenters.com/pregnancy.aspx but I'm interested to know which is more reliable, the blood test or the urine test.

I've also seen a lot of talk on various forums etc about false negatives, I've never heard of this before.

It's all very confusing.

Thank you!

I have used Wondfo tests off of Amazon and love them. They're less than a quarter apiece. I got a positive on a Wondfo before a First Response, which is said to be the most sensitive out of the store brands. I got a positive on a Wondfo at 8dpo and I had blood work done the next day and my Hcg was only 17 so the Wondfo is super sensitive. Generally urine pregnancy tests won't pick up anything below a 25 (although I will say the FRER was faintly positive about an hour before my blood draw so it does pick up levels below 25).

Blood tests are the most accurate, but only if you get a quantitative Hcg, not a qualitative. A quantitative gives you the exact number. A qualitative just says yes or no, and anything below 25 is considered a "no" but you might still be pregnant.

Thanks for that. I've read about quantitative and qualitative before but not really understood what it meant, but it all makes a bit more sense now!

Fingers crossed :)
