Jodie and Melany - thanks for posting your beautiful babies!!  Makes it VERY REAL for a FTM like me!!! bigeyes.gif  I was telling my mom that I really wanted to sew some curtains for my bedroom, since the moon is full again and the bedroom is quite bright during the night, and she said, "just think, next full moon your baby will be in the room with you."  While I am very much aware the end of my pregnancy is near, it's still so abstract to me.

I had another wonderful appointment with my MW on Friday evening.  I tried acupuncture for the first time.   Interesting.  I was a little nervous about it, but it didn't hurt and I've slept like a log all weekend!  She said the baby is a bit lower than last time, but not all the way.  Yesterday, the LO feels even lower, but I'm really not sure.  I'm 37 weeks today.  I don't feel "birthy" yet, which I'm happy about.

I had a very lazy day yesterday.  Friday was a holiday, and I puttered around the house, cleaning, doing laundry.  But yesterday I wanted to finish a little sweater I was knitting (and I'm not impressed how big it is - pattern says 6 months, but I think more like a year... so no rush on that one...)  Today I plan on doing a bit more.  Doing a dump run, plowing the driveway, tidying up some more, sewing bedroom curtains, etc...  We'll see.

Wishing everyone a relaxing Sunday!

Jodie your baby is adorable!  Like others have said, these pictures make me want MY baby here sooner!  Add that to the general fed-up with being pregnant feelings I'm having and I think I'll be breaking out the breast pump as soon as I'm officially 37 weeks and have at 'er.  I am just SO DONE.  I can't even walk the dog properly anymore - I go too slowly and even though she's very gentle and a good walker she still can't help pulling on the leash and she's not getting any more exercise than she would walking between the kitchen and living room a few times.  If I drive to an off-leash area and waddle around she's okay, but I hate using the car that much... ah well, I guess I just have to suck it up for a few more weeks... maybe... I'll be 37 weeks on Wednesday.  Some days I have tons of BH contractions and some that are quite strong, and I get hopeful - but then they go away and I go for a day or more without feeling anything much.  The baby definitely feels lower though, so that's something.  My hemorrhoids are slightly better but that's, I think, by virtue of me being a complete lazy-ass slob and spending most of the last few days lying on the couch watching TV or reading.  I AM very grateful that I have the luxury of doing that however.  DH and DD are being pretty awesome about it.  I did haul myself up the 3 flights of stairs to DD's bedroom last night so I could cuddle her to sleep though.  I miss having proper cuddles with her - the belly is so much in the way.

I DID manage to get off the couch long enough yesterday to alter my swimsuit so I can wear it again - as per midwife and doula instructions I will try to go for a swim every morning when it's nice and quiet at the Y and get some exercise and full-body relaxation in the warm kiddie pool.

Scruffy - I'm still waiting to hear if DH's extended health covers acupuncture - I LOVE it, I think it's nifty.  There's a place here that does a "cervical ripening" treatment which just sounds like a great idea on a number of counts, but it's $100 and I can't quite justify it unless it's reimbursable. (OTOH, I was going to go get a really good haircut (trim & tidy) that will last me at least 6 months next week, and that's about $70, so I could forgo the haircut I suppose...)

Scruffy, YES. Once the babies in this group started coming, it all suddenly seemed more real! And I wrote up a list of the things that really do need to be done before the baby comes, so that we can make sure to get everything checked off in the next few weeks. Because even though it's not likely, the baby really could be here in the next few weeks!!! Yikes!

Spughy, I really need to figure out if I have any swimsuit that I could wear, because I think my body would be really happy with swimming. Every once in a while I have my husband lift up my belly a little for several seconds, and even that little bit of supporting some of my belly weight feels great. I still take baths sometimes too, which feel good, but even with my thing that increases the water level in the tub by four inches, there are three round parts of me that always stick a couple inches out of the water!

All I did was take an old one-piece suit (that I had been wearing up to a few weeks ago - it's an old one of my mom's that was too big on me normally) and I opened up the side seams and inserted an oval of lycra on each side.  It doesn't look particularly awesome but it allows my belly to poke out and does the trick.  Took me less than an hour, total.  I didn't bother serging the seams, I don't think it'll fray or come apart in the short span I'll be using it.

My MW did "cervical ripening" and hit the gynecological spots.  3 needles in each leg.  I have never experienced acupuncture before and was quite surprised how "tingly" spots were on my leg, and not the spots with the needles in them.  She won't do the uterus / contractions spots for a couple weeks (which I am okay with!!!)  That said, she did acupunture on herself for all her 6 babies and was at least 2 weeks late every time, so shrug.gif.

If I got to hold a tiny baby, I think I'd weep!!!  I've been spending some time with a neighbour lately and she has a 6 month old, but because he's already 6 months, it doesn't seem "relate-able" to what's inside ME.

Oh!!!  I bet he does, too!!  I forgot that babies smell good.  That made me smile.

I plowed the driveway, did a dump run, and sewed some curtains.  Not sure if I can hang the curtain rod without DP though, so it might have to wait until he gets home from work.  It's a BEAUTIFUL day here, a smidgen above freezing and the sun is shining!!
