How do you stay motivated and inspired?

So what do you do?  The only idea I have is to paste pictures of hot bodied ladies all over my house, but that just seems so... depressing.

I get into routine, figure out what I love and try to set myself up for success. For example, I hate running and I'm not a morning person. So as much as I would love to brag about a daily six AM run, I finally realized that will never ever happen. So, I settle for a group cardio class in the evenings and make it a habit to go at rhe time of day when I'm most motivated.

I try to work out and stay healthy not with the goal of being someone else (the pictures of other women around the house) but about being the most capable version of myself. So, I work out from a place of joy and happiness (even if I have to fake it) and not from a place of hating myself. It makes all the difference in keeping me on track!

I am very goal oriented.  So, for me, I will sign up for a race, join a class, or start a training schedule that has a definite conclusion.  It is much easier for me to stay focused this way.

I agree with McTurner..I try to do things I love and when I want to do them. I get a better workout at night, so I go at night.

I think its hard for women to stick to a healthy lifestyle because of the really negative associations we have with weight and body image. Its hard to stick to something that isn't positive- so I always try to think positively and it makes everything easier. Rather than think "my thighs are too big, my stomach is too flabby etc" I just try to focus on how good everything will look. Or how excited I am to have the rock hard abs of my dreams

I think changing your mentality is pretty necessary. :) Cant expect to hold on to something too long if all it does is mentally weigh you down thumbsup.gif

Self-respect and self-love motivate me. I value my body and mind and I cherish my health. Not that I've always lived up to this ideal, but grace to begin anew is available every moment of every day.

Totally off topic Bec...but I am *dying* at the cuteness of your avatar. Such an adorable puppy!
