Nope, i did the homeopathic induction for 48 hours but have decided to not continue tonight because taking remedies every few hours all through the night was starting to make me crazy. I did find that the remedies brought on stronger Braxton Hicks again. Hoping a good slug of sleep tonight will help. Hope we both see some results soon!

I keep checking to see if there are any updates from mamas that are so close!

So...... turns out I think I have thrush and a clogged duct.  Feeling much better today than yesterday, but I used gentian violet last night and I woke up feeling a million times better.  I was dying yesterday.

lol- i totally tried everything so enthusiastically to kick-start labor for a few pregnancies. then decided to just try and sleep off the end.  this pregnancy i slept sooooo much at the end, and also ended up sleeping  a lot during labor.  rest!!!!  and that baby will come out, hopefully very soon!!!

i did gentian violet w/ my DS1 after he got a massive thrush episode after antibiotics.  and dosed hubby too.  it was great b/c we addressed his lifelong yeast issues w/ pretty purple dye!  i have some around here.  my little guy has yeast behind his knee (only one!) and under his armpits.  ???  he had some in his groin, but we managed to dry that up w/ baths and air, but that knee won't straighten!  i mixed a couple drops of myrrh, lavender and geranium w/ carrier oil and started applying that.  and baking soda baths.  he doesn't mind the rash, but hates treatment. so far his mouth and my nipples seem fine.  but i think of gentian violet fondly and laugh.

Thanks! I have a very deep urge to seclude myself and sleep. My energy has been very low the past week. I feel like as soon as I can get my energy back up I will see this baby. It's been really hard to fight off all the well-meaning people who want to drag me out to go on long walks and go shopping all all these things they say are going to make the baby come. :) I love the enthusiasm but I really just want to unplug my phone and disappear for a while.

Owch! I've had thrush and have helped a few friends out with getting help for clogged ducts. Both nasty things. Do you have access to a post-natal massage therapist who can help with the duct? It's common here to use a massage for this but I'm not sure if it's something they do in north america much. People are pretty hands-on with boobs in Asia. :)

Ooh, I had a plugged duct during the first week. A friend of mine told me to try doing some massage with a vibrator or an electric toothbrush. It totally worked. I had already done hand massage in the shower and hot compresses etc. with no luck. I have a small bullet vibe and I would turn it on and roll it along the hard area toward the nipple. I did this both when she was and wasn't nursing. Next day things were flowing again. The area still felt bruised for a bit, but that's to be expected.

Thanks for the tips mama's! I will keep them for next time (I get clogged ducts at lest a few times in the first year...) dd2 was able to help move it. One of the things I love about tandem nursing a toddler....I call her the super sucker. D's just cant be directed.

Hope we hear something soon from kat and buko!!!!

Thank you for your labor vibes, my February ladies! 

Not much time for the full update, but Buko is here!!!

Baby girl L___ D___ M____ was born AT HOME OMG!! just before midnight, March 2.  A tiny peanut, 6 lbs, 6 oz (though almost 20 inches), head full of black hair, perfect in every way (of course, I would say that).  Already nursing OFTEN... and... we're still calling her "Buko" about half the time, LOL.  

Water didn't actually break until pushing (I was mistaken earlier  ), and it wasn't a totally "easy" 18-hour labor, but it still worked out just the way it was meant to.  And I caught her myself!

Pics and more to follow soon.  Thanks for all your well-wishes.  I'm sure your vibes and prayers are what carried us through!

How many weeks are you?

40 + 3

What crazy things are you doing to usher in labour?

Everything! EPO (three ways), pineapple, raspberry tea, Indian food, making out, accupressure, warm baths, walking, stretch and sweep last Wed... I know I'm forgetting something!!

Any early labour signs?

We were 3 cm and 50% effaced on Wed, pretty sure I lost the mucus plug the next day (had to use google image :-) and this morning I had clear fluid leaking out when I'd stand up -(no clue about this).

At this point the only thing I can report is VERY mild cramping and an intensely sore pubic bone.

Are your midwives/doctors, doulas and partners being supportive?

Our midwife is rad- she has been super supportive that this baby is coming on it's own and it is just a matter of time.  My husband's parents have traveled up from Louisiana to be here so that adds a little pressure.  The rest is just text messages and emails from friends and family wondering if we've forgotten to tell them we've had the baby already...AS IF!!!

It's our first baby so we are just anxiously waiting and trying to keep the house clean since this is where it's all going to happen!
