Yoga Home Practice for March-- Challenge and Support - Page 2

I use couch blankets for bolsters and pillows for blocks.  I find the only time I need the pillows are under my knees for reclined cobbler, otherwise they're just not helpful enough to fuss with.  I am still, mercifully, pretty flexible.

So, Sweet Silver's smiley code is awesome, and I'm poaching it.

faint.gif - Y'all are lucky I didn't make the nightly news, nevermind do yoga.  (Nothing.  Not so much as a seated twist.)

goldfish.gif - I tried.  I didn't make it, but I tried.  (Morning, but no nightly, or vice versa.)

om.gif - I am blissed out.  (I did yoga morning and night, or I did a big fat sweaty power session during Little Miss' nap.)

Better than me so far! However, since I made a goal of once per week ... I'm totally going to stretch it and say that this week counts as the first week for me ... you know, give myself some additional days to make my goal. Man those kiddos eat up all the free time!!

Way to go all of you ladies!!

My girls love doing YogaKids ABC's--and it is a surprisingly nice collection of poses.  My back always feels tall and supple after the video, so when I pop that one in now and then, I totally count it!

It turns out the chills, light head, etc. were just from the muscle pain in my right shoulder and the lost sleep because of the discomfort.  Must have been pinching a key nerve pretty badly.  I rested all day Sunday, though I went for a walk to try to ease my shoulder soreness, feeling extra bad from (of course) keeping it still all day :/  Weirdness.  Feel much better, but it's a bear getting back into this routine.  Thankfully, not the flu.

Ugh!  I am making my goals, but barely.  I have no energy, little motivation.  I am dragging......  it is possible it's that part of my cycle, but if it is, it is rough his time around.  Looking forward 9 days to that surge of energy I get at that other point in my cycle.  One must hope, because this sucks.

SweetSilver - good for you for persevering!  I think that's part of what yoga has to teach - holding a pose, breathing, being physically and mentally present when you might rather not. innocent.gif

Breaking this into tiny pieces has really helped me.  The past two days I did one sun salutation each.  Today, I made it through one while DS was eating some yogurt, got greedy, and accomplished another half of one before said 30 lb. toddler climbed on my back and forced me to the ground. upsidedown.gif  I got up, finished the set a little more quickly, AND then DS and I did some bonus downward dogs for fun ("Real dogs...I did it, mommy, look!" - so cute luxlove.gif).

So adorable.  And you deserve kudos for your own perseverance as well.

I'm still around, just had baby on Saturday and haven't started yoga yet..feels too weird with the bleeding to be doing that type stuff.

I did see that on the No-Spend thread-- and you are still posting!!  That's amazing to me.  Congratulations!

Still here, still rollin' with the one-a-day sun salutations (except yesterday - I was too wiped out) - mostly after the tiny kid is asleep - kind of more like moon salutations haha.  I love that this thread keeps me accountable, and that I'm at least doing something. Sheepish.gif  It helps me feel more home in my body, and even the tiny bit helps with stress and fatigue (though I'd like to do more!).

I'm still here! Albeit as a silent observer of everyone else achieving their goals! My youngest LOs got colds - and that sort of threw the schedule upside down. I'm beginning to wonder why I thought I could attain 1x/week! Geeeez. duh.gif

Congratulations Micah_Mae!!!

I'm still here, but swamped with work. Fell of the yoga wagon pretty hard, plan to get back to it starting tonight with at least something! Hope to get back on here this weekend and have something worth posting.

I guess the good part of my son not going to sleep is that I got to do some yoga and check back in here to record. It wasn't pretty, but it was something!

I think 3 weeks without coffee is making my days feel flat.  I need to relearn what energy is supposed to feel like, I guess.  But, that's what this thread was supposed to be for--  keeping me going after the excitement of starting a new, healthy habit is over.

Congratulations, micah_mae!!! love.gif

I've been on and off again - I think I've been off the wagon a couple days, or one on one off - hard to recall.  I lost a grandparent this week, which has been very hard -  and so sometimes I'm too exhausted to attempt it, although if I push through even just one sun salutation, I almost always feel much better.  A physical expression of emotion, I guess.  I can do something, not just feel something.  That's why I love yoga so - that crossroads of mental/emotional/spiritual/physical.

Going to try to make more time for it this week! om.gif

DROP AND GIVE ME 10!!!!  I wound up taking off my skirt to drop to do some sun salutations in socks and long johns because I almost forgot--- again!  I feel disingenuous dialing it in like I have been, but I need to get through this lack of motivation.  Maybe I need to do less, but focus more.  I'll try that tomorrow.
