Back again for a few more minutes. We have no retirement or savings anymore. Once upon a time we did but everything was cashed out for medical bills. That is really our downfall currently and I see no end in sight. We've got autism and all those therapies to severe asthma that requires $ meds every month and constant monitoring with specialists to learning disabilities and mental health issues that requires private schools and a stream of steady tutors and therapists. Basically everything!
Our long term goals involve selling DH's company and socking away most of that money once business debts and some personal debts are paid off. Trying to get into a new house for us. The rental market bites here. College town so LL don't care about upkeep on properties, DD2's asthma/allergies require a certain type of property to avoid triggers, we need to be home owners again. Trying to get rid of our last house that we can never live in again because of all the triggers that exist there for her.
We have two main spurges. One is that we take one beach vacation once a year, the only vacation we ever do and the only time Dh ever takes off work. We rent a condo near the beach and just hang out. Two DD1's sports. After this competitive season is over though, she probably will end up sponsored and that will help. We've gone back and forth on that subject and because she is the child that struggles so much with what life has given her, we've decided to do anything that we can to help with the few things that she is good at, which is basically sports.
