HPT after Embryo Transfer?

This is my first IVF cycle.  My clinic scheduled my first beta for 14 days after my transfer - which was with a 5 day blastocyst (14dp5dt - I think this is how you denote that).  From what I am reading on forums, other clinics seem to test sooner.  I am wondering at what point should I get a result from a HPT?  Not sure I'll be able to wait the full 2 weeks, but also don't want to torture myself unnecessarily :)

IMO - Certainly you should get accurate results at the time your period is due for a normal cycle so 9dp5dt. The thing you have to make sure of is that if you took an HCG trigger that the trigger is out of your system because it'll show up on an HPT. Personally, I would test the trigger out and feel comfortable testing at 5dp5dt (or the equivalent of 10 dpo) with a super accurate test like a First Response Early Result. But, I'm a horrible early tester so you probably shouldn't listen to me!
