Newly diagnosed adhd and possible ASD.

My DS is 4 and change and just diagnosed with adhd. Therapist did some sort of questionnaire for autism and he has a high probability for it. He's to be tested by a specialist as soon as we get an appointment so we'll know for sure what's going on. All therapist kept saying is he's "high functioning"?

"high functioning" means that they don't suspect classic, profound autism.
 

Depending how how severe his adhd is, it could be very hard to tell what else, if anything, is going on with him. Why do they suspect autism? What issues is he having that can't be related to either the ADHD or just being a 4 year old little boy?

Thanks for the welcome! She did say that some of the things are also symptoms of adhd. He doesn't make eye contact, he has an oral fixation thing going on, uh....fidgets. Probably why she's sending us to someone for more testing. Honestly DH and I don't think the autism fits. I suspected the ADHD sine he was about 2 or so but nothing obvious says autism.

That's the exact situation we found ourselves in.

Well worth getting a diagnosis, support his areas of need, and focus on what he's good at.

It's not an easy time, hey.
