The thing is... my partner is the same. Resigns to bed at odd moments. Do you think HE'S pregnant?!
How is everyone feeling? - Page 3
Ugh, I've been super nauseous and throwing up, plus insanely tired. I'm just at 7 weeks 3 days, I think, and this time it's so much worse than last. I can barely eat anything, and that's not helping the tiredness. Dh thinks I'm being a big baby, though he won't admit it. The other day DS pooped a big stinky poop, and the smell of it sent me wretching into the bathroom. DH was like "oh, so now I have to change all the poopy diapers?" I really can't wait for the second trimester.
I have yet to actually vomit, but I go from being mildly nauseous to being horribly nauseous; I've been somewhere on that continuum for a little over a week (I'm 6 weeks today). I am only a little more tired than I always was, but I have chronic fatigue, so I've never been not tired. I thought coffee would be super hard to kick in light of that, but it turns out that I can't stand things with strong flavors. Coffee and bacon are both off the table for now.
Fortunately, I have been able to drag my icky-feeling carcass to dance classes and sports practices without exception...although attendance at tonight's ballet lesson is still up in the air. Housework has suffered a little, as I have a set schedule for myself and have had to deviate due to nausea a few times.
If it weren't for my wonderful DH, Simply Grapefruit juice, and chocolate coconut milk, I would almost certainly be miserable.
I try to use the worst-feeling times to look at pictures of friends' babies (one born 2 days ago!) and think about building a registry; anything to remind me that this icky feeling will have a payoff. 😍
Ugh. Today was the first time I threw up and felt absolutely miserable. 7w3d today. I was expecting to feel awful earlier, so I guess that's good? I woke up around 4am feeling pretty terrible, but managed to go back to sleep quickly. I'm so exhausted today too. I can hardly stand up straight. We got invited to a lunch at a new friend's house on Sunday, so I hope I'm feeling okay by then!
I've been nauseous since before I even got my BFP (at 10 DPO) but since "turning" six weeks it's been even worse. This is my fifth pregnancy but first experience with morning sickness and um, it really really sucks.
Also today I cried for 15 minutes because I couldn't find a knife so, that was great. It appears the crazy hormones are here too.
Oof, I've started the nausea - not nearly as bad as some of you, thank goodness, but I think it's starting earlier than last time. It seems like I need to eat every hour... that's going to go well. :) I did just have some peppermint gum (Spry - it's natural, with xylitol, yay), and that actually seemed to help. Pickled onions are also yummy right now... but eating the last of the Girl Scout cookies? Worst ever. I guess it's good if my belly enforces healthy eating. Right? :)
Oh, I'm just half-laughing and half-groaning in empathy as I read through all these posts!
YES to the "I don't wanna!" So lazy. So tired. So just always want to get in bed. And is it just me or do the days just draaaaaaaaaag on?!
Today I made beef stew in the crock pot so it "stewed" all day-worst move EVER! The smell was assaulting. And not in a nauseus way....in a "my whole body is in revolt" way. Strange! One thing that did work was chewing some spearmint gum (somebody else mentioned that too). Strangely, I can eat most things, even the things whose smells assault me! It's the SMELLS. :) And strangely, I've been eating fairly healthy so far but today I had to really fight the urge to hit the DQ for a blizzard when the smell got bad!
And tonight I've got my first headache. I tend to get them in the first trimester. I used to blame sugar intake but my sugar intake is pretty decent these days. So it's just the good ol' horomones! And I'm pretty sure it was triggered by the SMELL! Have I mentioned the SMELL? :)
Tomorrow is our 6 week ultrasound and if all is well, I think I might finally clue my 5 year old in on why mommy is such a lump!
I am totally retiring all my non yoga pants today though. Can't take it anymore!!! Anyone use one of those big waist band things? I feel like it would never stay in place (I'm a little extra fluffy around the hips...Ok a lot extra fluffy...)
Sleepymama, I've looked at those pregnancy belly band things, and I'm totally confused as well about how they would stay on properly. I'm petite but my hips are almost 15 inches bigger than my waist. I'm lucky that I never replaced my pants after losing the last 10-15 pounds, so I have some bigger pants that I can wear around the house for a while. I hear you on not liking tight things around the waist! I'm going on holiday in a week and a half and a half and I think I might just bring maternity dresses and leggings as they are so much more comfy.
AFM I am feeling so so sick. The only things I have any interest in eating are sherbet lemons and dry cereal. I force myself to have some raisins and a glass of apple juice just so I don't get scurvy. At least I haven't puked yet but I just can't wait for the ms to go away!
I'm having food issues. I go through these phases where I only want to eat certain things. I can barely type them now because the thought of them makes me sick now that they have passed... but first it was spicy food (which now sounds terrible!), then it was super healthy fruits and veggies, and now all I can eat is salt and vinegar chips! Which is definitely the most unhealthy yet.
I'm glad I'm not the only one! Lots of lazy. Nausea morning till night... starting to throw up a bit, but nowhere near my last pregnancy (I had hyperemesis). I didn't keep track of the names, but one of the PPs talked about their worry because they had hyperemesis their last pregnancy, and I'm totally sympathetic. Hopefully neither of us will get that bad!
Do any of you feel guilty when you're around your IRL friends who are at the same stage we are, and are totally rocking it? House all clean, cooking fish without a single dry heave? I love my friends, but they just seem to do pregnancy so much better than I do.
I'm on #5 so I've been making use of the Bella band for a week and a bit. They do indeed keep your pants up but are also a pretty big "maternity clothes" giveaway so i really hope I'm not blowing my own cover with it! I refuse to wear maternity jeans this early though so it's either the Bella band or no pants at all!
