Classroom Updates

Pretty simple question but one that I am very curious about.

In your child's Waldorf classroom how are you, the parents, kept abreast of school happenings, songs sung in class, stories told, and activities that occur?

Do you get emails or printed material? 

What are you told and how often?

i think that a weekly newsletter is a good way to communicate and pop in and visit anytime if there is an open door policy.

We get weekly emails from the teacher. It's nice to get a weekly run-down of the events in the class. Our teacher is also very open with communication, and invites phone calls or emails whenever.

Also, because my son is having a hard time with his behavior, I get an email when he has had a rough day (usually it's b/c he was chatty).

Sounds like a dream...you are fortunate. May I ask what grade?

My daughter's teacher (1st grade) maintains a blog which includes photos and short descriptions of what's going on in the classroom.  He also sends out emails to let us know what is being covered in class.  I believe they are weekly. He also has an open door policy (although I've never availed myself of it).

i think it would be okay to request and update...also, maybe the teacher doesn't realize parents need an update or is very busy as most teachers are and maybe in a kind way you could offer to help with a weekly update...part of volunteering.....hope this helps and your situation improves. it is important to know whats going on in school.

Our school also does weekly emails from the teacher. In addition the Administration also puts out a weekly (or so ;) ) newsletter via email.
