VBAC Friendly OB's around Duluth MN?

My husband and I are TTC #2 and we live in Ely MN but our hospital has a ban on VBAC's here...homebirth with a midwife is not an option because our hospital is understaffed and does not have a surgical team ready at all times so if I were to transfer, it would take too long.  Also, the dumb hospital won't "allow" woman to labor on the weekends or after 5:00 on week days.  WTF?? They send the women to a hospital over and hour away or two hours away...

No matter what, we have to travel 2 hours to Duluth to even attempt a VBAC in a facility that has 24/7 surgical staff.

So...looking for docs in the area who are decent

The only thing I've heard about Duluth is their obstetrics practices are still in the dark ages. You may have to travel further than Duluth to find a VBAC friendly provider.

Try posting your question to the Minnesota/Wisconsin tribe area http://www.mothering.com/community/f/88/minnesota-wisconsin

Also - contact the Childbirth Collective - http://www.childbirthcollective.org/

They should be able to tell you where the VBAC friendly hospitals and providers are.

I hope you find a provider to work with! You won't be the first mom to travel over 2 hours to have a VBAC. I've heard this story many times, unfortunately.
