They are so adorable CaNanny! Yey for ALL being home!

Saw the chiro on Wed to try to turn the baby. She gave me some moxibustion sticks to take home to use. I have feeling a lot more pressure and more crampy, but I don't know - baby still doesn't feel head down. I'm doing some turning exercises on my own too. I go to the chiro again on Monday then have my midwife appt Thurs to see if baby is still breech. Crossing fingers baby has turned by then!

I'm so glad its Friday. Tonight I'm by myself as DH has a bowling party for work. Tomorrow I have to go pick out a bridesmaid dress for my sister's wedding, that I won't even be able to try on. I just have to pick a style I like, in a size I think I'll be after the baby comes, and go with it. Doesn't sound too fun for me. Then Sunday is my son's bday party - which I'm really looking forward to. I have to figure out how to make him a batman cake.

Anyone who's farther along trying any natural induction techniques? I was thinking of trying some at 37 weeks - which is only 2 weeks away for me.

Very cute Cananny! I bet it's quite an adjustment having them all there with you. How special and amazing. They are adorable.

I found out I am GBS negative as well today! joy.gif I guess I was supposed to have a cervical exam but my mind didn't realize that and they had never actually said it. The doc allowed me to skip it since I didn't have any labor signs that had me running to call him. Next week I won't be so lucky though.

Soo.... Full moon coming up! Who's going to go?? Hehe.

Ill be 39 wks on Monday. I've been walking ALOT. Cleaning like a mad woman, carrying the groceries up the stairs (I won't let DH help me lol) I rearranged the furniture last night. shampooed the carpets. All in the hopes of bringing on labor... So far nothing... If I get to next wed. And am still preg. I will be trying some castor oil, and maybe an enema. Ohh I've also been eating tons of pineapple. (Supposedly to "soften" the cervix lol) and of course DTD wink1.gif

Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm totally game to try just abt anything at this point! Lol

I have heard that stimulating your nipples works.

Nipple stimulation, walking, & there are two pressure points I'm going to start using. With both my previous babies I walked the mall and then took a nap and woke up to my water breaking. So maybe that will work again this time. I won't do anything drastic like castor oil yet - at least not unless I go closer to 42 weeks.

Regarding self induction- Nothing ever worked for me. I could bring on contractions, but not labor. My theory is that no induction method- medical or self- really works well unless your body/baby is pretty much ready anyway... in which case, I prefer to just wait. On the other hand, trying to get things going is something to do at least :) And, since I am a VBAC, if my OB was starting to push for a c-section due to post dates, I would probably go full-force with self-induction methods and pray it worked. In that case, a day earlier can mean all the difference!

Maybe this is worth mentioning: I don't know if this helped labor start or not, but the night before DD2 was born, my DH took the kids and I had the house all to myself for an evening. Someone dropped off dinner, so I laid on the floor, ate dinner, and watched a really sad old movie. I cried and cried. Then I watched some old Mystery Science Theater 2000 episodes and laughed. I felt so good afterwards. Relaxed and at peace. I went into labor very early the next morning at 40w3d.

I am so restless, but yet too tired to function. My back is hurting and it's really hard to do the housework that I want to do. Heck, it getting hard to do anything. I'll be 37 weeks on Sunday, so I still have a long way to go, but I am really getting to that point where I am READY for this to be OVER. I want the baby to be ready and healthy and all that, but man... to be able to move around without pain would be amazing.

And it figures that the one day my kids actually take a long nap, I can't sleep irked.gif

I don't think I would ever do castor oil but I might try a few of those other things. I figure it can't hurt... And if it just brings on contractions then I can only hope they help soften things up for the real deal. I'll have to do a bit of reading on methods and give it a whirl. Tomorrow I'm planning to clean the house top to bottom for a group play date we're hosting on Sunday. Maybe that will help trigger some contractions. Of course then the play date would have to switch houses, but at least mine would be clean right?! Haha.

I'm still kind of in disbelief that I have finally hit full term. It used to seem like it was so far away. So crazy! I know full well I could go for a lot longer but it's nice to know I could go soon and be in a safe zone.

I have heard of women who had a good cry and then went into labor not too long after.

Maybe I should have a good cry WHILE jumping on a trampoline wink1.gif LOL!

I completely agree with you -- not from personal experience, but from experiences with lots of other women.

I personally wouldn't try a lot of self-induction methods (especially castor oil!) unless I was getting pretty late and had reason to believe there'd be a problem if it went much later.  But that is just me.  I certainly think there's no harm in moving (I mean, I'm still working out but not to induce labor) or enjoying some sex (after all, we're not gonna get any for a bit postpartum!) but there is evidence-based reasons to believe that trying to force even term babies out before they are ready isn't a great idea anyway so I would only be actively trying if I had a really pressing reason to do so, and I was past 40w.

Yay for all the boys being home cananny!! I can't imagine what you're going through but I'm sure it's a huge relief to not have them in different places anymore!

Had my (officially) 39week apt today and I went ahead and let her check me. She wasn't pushy or anything and would have been ok with waiting but we *are* thinking about what we can do to nudge this little guy to come close to his due date since my whole birth team will be gone when I'm statistically most probably to go into labor. I figured there wasn't much going on "down there" yet, and I was pretty much right. My cervix was still somewhat posterier, long and only about 1cm and funnel shaped. She did say it was nice and soft and a bit strechy, so that was good to hear. We talked a bit about EPO and decided it probably wouldn't do much for me since I am soft already, but I found it interesting that she actually uses EPO instead of KY to do the exam lol. Worked fine hehe.

She said that a common "self induction" tool in Canada is Lemon Verbena Oil - any one here familiar with using it? She said they usually use it in addition to the castor oil but I guess it gives a pretty good kick and is quite effective. So, I might be looking at that NEXT WEEKEND (OMFG... NEXT weekend.. how did THAT happen!)) I didn't have good luck with castor oil with my last two pregnancies - with DD2 I just clearly wasn't ready yet so of course it didn't work, but with DD3 I was 4cm and otherwise completely "ready" and literally just couldn't keep it down, it just came right back up when I tried to swallow it.

I'll also start doing a lot more walking, nipple stim (with and without a breast pump), DTD and making sure to have an O thumb.gif My biggest hang up is probably just feeling mentally ready for him to be here. I know that was part of why DD3 was so "late".

I still feel like we have a long way to go before this little guy gets here, but the reality is, he'll be here in *3* weeks OR LESS. Holly smokes! I've got to get the rest of my list worked on!! Thank goodness it's Friday and we should be able to get a lot done this weekend!

Teehee, we have one. Hmmm, mayhaps .  .  .

My doc keeps saying lots of sex and walking. We have diligently been doing our "homework" all week. My cousin even came and picked up my visiting sister last night so DF and I could have the house to ourselves. We managed to get contractions going about 7min apart and then they just fizzled out. Woke up at 4am and took a bath with clarys sage. Drinking lots of raspberry leaf tea and even hooked up the breast pump to try some nipple stimulation. And a big 'ol lot of nothing happened. I wont do castor oil because gastric distress does not sound like a good time right now. But I did have a cup of coffee being as I am really sensitive to caffeine. So I've just made about 100 trips to pee today and that's it.

BeanBean06 - I think it's going to be you or me this week. Did you mention tingly hands? My tongue and nose have been tingly today. Weird. I hope everything goes smoothly and progresses for you.

My doc blindsided me yesterday with a recommendation to induce today. I said no and bought some time. But the trade off is they want me in L&D on sunday for monitoring and pushing for induction early this week. I really don't want Pitocin and it's frustrating that everyone is so incredulous about going past 38weeks with twins. They don't share a placenta and they're both on tract for singleton growth. So what's the problem with waiting for them other than it placing me outside of some magical bell curve. Praying labor kicks in this weekend.

If the thing about a good cry is true, I should go into labor soon. Stupid hormone driven argument!

Yes I have very badly tingly hands today. But watch the facial tingly/numbness! I had an episode of total facial numbness back at 36 weeks and it was a cranial facial migraine and they can be serious if left untreated! I was terrified when it happened and thought I was having a stroke. I have migraine meds I have take as soon as I get any symptoms. I'm really hoping these tingly hands aren't a warning of another migraine, as the hand happened before the face last time... And I sure hope I go within the next week. I'm miserable! However being this pregnant WITH TWINS! OMG! your a saint. wink1.gif

I had my midwife appointment today, 37w5d.  When I told her dh likes the idea of next friday, the 29th, she said that sounds great, and a definite possibility!  I'm only about 1.5/2 cm, 50% effaced, but she guessed the date on the nail with my last baby, so here's hoping she's right again!

We are all getting so close! I mean, even 4 weeks is pretty darn close. Remember being 8 weeks and waiting for the second trimester to come?

I'm so excited to start hearing birth stories and seeing pics of our babies!
