Even though we rent, we plan on staying here for awhile and I cannot STAND this awful peach-beige monstrosity the last tenant picked out. So I will be looking at colors and low VOC paints this coming week.

We are also gardening! It has been an unusually cold winter in Mississippi but we already started some seeds to transfer to the garden beds, we will probably start putting in the garden beds next weekend. So far we have basil, parsley, peas, lettuce, and spinach. We will also do kale, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, green beans, and strawberries as it warms up.

My belly isn't huge but definitely showing! I am outgrowing my pants too, I hope I can find my maternity ones somewhere, I really don't want to buy more. If it would just warm up a little I have plenty of dresses and skirts to wear but the cold here just keeps hanging on.

We're moving from a townhouse with just balconies/patios to a house with a large yard...I'm super excited to be able to garden...I've lived in townhouses or condos for many years and I miss it! DD has already picked out what she wants to plant in her garden too :)

We are going on vacation for a week and getting our kitchen and upstairs hallway painted while we are gone. I hate the color in our bedroom so we might also redo that before the baby comes. 

Last spring was the first spring in our new house and we built a raised garden bed. We have no idea how to garden though and so we didn't get much out of it. Thinking we should get a book or something so we make this year's worth while. Any reading suggestions?

I am very surprised with how big my belly is this time around. I am loving it though. I am starting off 20 pounds lighter this time around so I think it's easier to see the roundness. I work from home most days and have been able to hide it on the few days I have gone in the office but that time is over and I plan to tell work on Tuesday. I also plan to tell our nanny and current nannyshare family. That might be a little weird since when baby gets here we want our nanny to ourself and no longer want to share her with the other family. I'll let you all know how that convo goes!

I organized my maternity clothes today, put away pants that won't fit until next fall.  It felt good to see what options I have to last me until the end.  I am definitely in maternity clothes now.  I should take a picture of my belly soon! Haven't done that yet.  I started a few journal entries to this next baby.  My daughter will be 3 this month and I have only made her one picture book from birth to one.  I still need to do one to two and two to there.  As a photographer we have a million wonderful pictures and I get completely overwhelmed picking my favorites for her books.  I do not print pictures, I just make a book on snapfish or something like that.  Does anyone else not print pictures?  Why is this so stressful for me? It has to be done before this next baby comes.  I also never wrote in a baby book for her but I typed in a private blog and I need to go through and edit posts and print that out too. Grrrr.  I told myself I would do it during the first trimester when I was laying around all the time and sick but of course, I had no motivation and now spring is coming, I have no motivation.  The nice thing is, I don't have much to do before this baby comes!

Oregon-  My DS just turned three a couple of days ago and I realized the same thing... I haven't even gotten as for as you though!  I started a baby book for him and it's saved (very nearly finished) in Shutterfly.  I had wanted to give gifts of the finished book as Christmas presents, or maybe Mother's/Father's Day presents to the grandparents... needless to say that never happened!  Maybe someday I'll get together ONE baby-childhood book and that will be enough.  But that means narrowing the photos down even more!

Hippie-  Do you have a local nursery you could go to and ask advice?  Like when to plant what in your area?  Make a list of what you want to grow and then highlight your top 5 or so.  Make sure those top five get priority in the space you have and then tuck in whatever else fits around them.  I love Ruth Stout's garden video, but I don't even know if it is available anymore.  Check out your library's gardening section, there are sooooooo many out there!

Hippie - I love the book, "The Gardener's A-Z Guide to Growing Organic."  Also, just get a load of compost and add it to your bed.  Create a compost pile if you can and add that every year.  When I lived in town and everyone gathered their leaves and put them on the curb I would steal them and put them in my compost pile.  Works great for the brown part of your compost.

We are so excited!!  We found a house that is perfect today.  Only 10 acres, but the house works better for us than the 40 acre parcel house does.  We are going to make an offer in the next week.  Yay!!!

Today the baby was kicking hard enough I could see it on the outside of my belly!!  I can't believe I'm to this point already, so fun!!  I'm 18weeks 2 days.  Oh, and I saw the OB with my doula on Friday.  My doula wanted to meet him and she already knew his nurse that takes care of me.  Babies heartrate was 150-152.  In 3 weeks we do an organ scan and find out the sex of the baby.  I met with my endo nurses and they just don't know what to do with me.  My glucose numbers are so great they don't want to fix anything if its not broke, ya know?  They did some minor tweaking though so that I don't go low so often and so that I can actually give myself insulin for dinner.  I haven't been the last few nights.  I'm feeling great and just brought in a few loads of firewood for the stove so we can be toasty warm.  It's supposed to be getting warmer, but it was still below zero last night around 2am.  We have free wood the landlords left, so we've been trying to use that instead of paying more for the furnace.

Gardening is not starting here anytime soon, they're predicting another 6-10 inches of snow tomorrow.  I don't know where we're going to put it all, we live in a urban neighborhood with not a lot of room between houses to put the driveway snow.  It is time to get my basement grow light setup ready though, almost time to start my flower seeds.

I've actually been feeling less movement lately, which is a little disconcerting.  Trying to think of all sorts of reasons why... I see my family doctor Friday who does my shadow care, so we'll hopefully hear a good strong heartbeat so I can stop worrying.  

And let me just say, I suck at all things baby book.  You're all not making me feel better.

More snow?  Ugh.  I hope it doesn't come all the way up here.    I was hoping for a melt off.  I'm not sure whether to start anything since were planning on moving and its not confirmed until we get an excepted offer.  I so wan to put my hands in the dirt, but I may wait until I can put in a raised bed and direct seed some stuff.

I hope you feel something soon.  The last few weeks have been like that until about Weds of last week and now I can feel the baby on the outside.  Hang in there.

I did some of my DS's baby book and don't have one for my DD.  I do want to put together photo albums for each, hard copy.

Nope, this is a "southern" storm from what I understand so far.  They're also predicting lake effect, so no one really knows how much we'll get for those of us close to the lakeshore.  Boo.

I have a feeling it's going to be another one of those years where us Milwaukeeans will be a month behind in our garden than my friends over in Madison who always thaw out way sooner.  Their winters may be colder, but spring seems to come faster.  Although their summers are hotter too, so especially *this* summer, they can have it.  ;)

I am in Chicago and am so not looking forward to the snow. I like snow, but this week is the consignment sale I co-chair and it is already insane for me doing that, keeping the kids covered with childcare, looking after my neighbours kids while she preps a baby shower for other friends when not looking after my kids, and partially putting the kitchen back together after the painting (one more coat). Oh, and I walk everywhere.

Yeah, it looks like we will be getting flurries for the next two days and then rain/snow next week.  Yay!!!  I really hope we have almost 50 degree weather by the end of the month.  Hallelujah!  That is very interesting about Madison.  We usually come down to Milwaukee to pick up my DS from the airport when he comes to stay with us.  We will never again go to the Chuck E. Cheese on a Saturday night though, oh my goodness, what a madhouse.  We usually go during their off hours to play for a little bit before we go back home or on our way to airport and that is usually fine, but oh my a Saturday night is chaos.  lol  Good thing we don't go there to eat, because there was no seating at all at that time of the week.  They even had a couple of rent-a-cops in there.

Hopefully our garden centers open here soon.  I want to get a couple mint plants for when I make sun tea, hopefully starting next month or next.  Yummy!!

Man, you guys are making me so ashamed.  I have baby books for all three of my kids, but I've only filled out the first 6ish months for my oldest and pretty much NOTHING for the other two.  I keep meaning to at least fill in a few things!!  I really do want them to have something in their books. :(

I'm feeling bigger every day...  Still not feeling much movement.  Here and there a kick, maybe...  Sigh...  I also need to call and find out when my next appointment is exactly.  I made the mistake of trying to call the office this morning only 45 minutes after they opened.  Duh, all lines busy!!  I *think* it's the 14th at 10 AM??

I am definitely overdue on putting together a photo album for DS.  I also want to do one for our late dog and our remaining dog.  Just need to put it high on my to-do list so I don't forget, I guess - after I finish taxes.

My ear infection got much better in terms of pain by this past weekend, but I still have lots of fluid and hearing loss on that side. I was looking up how long it could last and on one kids health site (because middle ear infections are mostly in kids) saw that the fluid can stay for up to a few months! Hope that is not the case for me. It's weird suddenly being half deaf.

Have any of you had a successful VBAC?  Or even more specific, anyone ever had an anterior placenta after a C-sect, and been planning a VBAC?  I was wondering if there are any 'tricks' in getting my placenta to migrate enough to ensure a chance at a VBAC...

Mama- with dd3 (second VBAC) my placenta was anterior, it was not a problem. my current placenta is anterior as well, and I am not concerned about it. They are fairly common.

AFM: I am still in Florida, and super happy to be away from the 8in of snow that got dumped on MI last week

I've been feeling movement pretty regularly, that's pretty neat too!

Mama505, my first VBAC was an anterior placenta. No issues. This will be my fourth VBAC.
