Me too. Sorry you and R are suffering! I can only go so long without any sleep before I will lose it. For real.

We all must sleep. Can you nap when your DH comes home? Since you know it's a temporary situation?

I sleep any chance I get. 99% of the time I nap with Conner during his morning and afternoon nap. Then I nap when he goes to bed at night until DH gets home, spend some time with him, then go to bed.

I'm hopeful that he's well enough that tonight will be better.... We'll see. It's just that Rhyko requires a boob to fall asleep, and he's been so congested I've had to sleep propping him way up and I can't sleep (well) sitting up like that. So during his sleeps (night and nap) I'm *not* able to sleep. DH did let me get a four hour block last night and that was heavenly.

I hate coffee... people are always telling me I'd feel so much better with coffee.  But dh drinks it and he keeps telling me how good coffee is for you... all these health benefits... but if he doesn't have his coffee in the morning, he gets a day long headache.... Hmmm.

Sora slept 11 hours straight last night. bigeyes.gif Usually we have at least one wake-up for a diaper change and milk around 4am, but she slept straight through last night. Can I get more of these nights? Please? praying.gif

Jaimee, I once did a research paper on caffeine -- with coffee as the main focus -- and I did find that coffee has good health properties. The caffeine isn't good for you, though, besides supposedly have memory-protective benefits long-term and decreasing risk/delayed onset of alzheimer's, etc. I personally love the short-term focus I get from caffeine, but I HATE it otherwise! On the other hand, I totally enjoy a good cup of coffee for the flavor and comfort of it...

Does anybody here use a juicer? That may be something to look into for those who are reliant on caffeine for energy. My DH has been a long-term energy drink consumer (Amps, Rockstars, the WORST of them for like TEN YEARS!) and he is 100% off of them now thanks to juicing! He is like a different person. Ohhh how I love juicing...

My husband quit drinking energy drinks last year when he started paleo diet. He also recently quit drinking coffee. He is crazy detoxed (I say, as I sip my coffee). He has lost 40 pounds in 6 months.

Yeah, I have an Omega One Gear juicer.  It's great, but I haven't been juicing lately.  Too much moving around, plus it's pretty $$ and we already spend a ton of money on food.  Our food budget WITHOUT juicing is $1200 a month, which is double what most people spend!  I would like to do it more though..

I wish I could get my dh to stop drinking energy drinks! I think they are so gross. He'll drink two cups of coffee, then pick up energy drink throughout the day. Yuck! Plus, he rarely drinks water. Then he complains about headaches. Ya think?!

I love my coffee.  Can't live without it. I don't actually have any physical symptoms if I skip it, though. I think caffeine has an undeserved bad rep. Actually, they were just talking about that on NPR this morning! It has lots of health benefits. I limit myself to two cups a day. I never drink soda or energy drinks. But I think there is definitely such a thing as too much. See above.

Add me to the list of having an energy drink, coffee obsessed husband. I never drink energys drinks, but I'll occasionally have coffee if I'm super tired and can't nap.

My dh's new dr just told him that it's no longer allowed to have caffeine, alcohol or medical marijuana (for IBS) ever again.  Apparently (none of his other dr's said this), they all interfere with the intake of vitamins and his prescription mood stabilizers.  Since he really, really, really wants to get healthy through diet and vitamins, he's staying away from all 3 right now.  While he hasn't had an energy drink in a long time, he did drink nearly a pot of coffee a day.  Strangely, he just quite one day without a headache or any major withdrawls.

Joanie, has your hearing come back?  I've had an ear infection in both ears for a week and my hearing is still bad.  I'm taking oil of oregano and extra vitamins in an attempt to avoid antibiotics.  I'm just tired of everything sounding like I'm under water.

Did you try garlic oil in your ears, Abra? I've read that can cure it quickly. You just saute garlic in oil, strain it, let it cool and then drip it into your ears several times a day.

No, but I did try some diluted oil of oregano a couple of times.  Maybe I just need to do it more?

I don't know, I hadn't heard about oregano.

You have the added bonus of protection from vampires with the garlic oil, though.

LOL, Christina!  I thought oregano was for congestion, not so much infection...?  I have taken it orally and had some very savory snot, but it did clear me out.  Maybe try the garlic, too?

There was instructions online for using oregano to heal ear infections. It's a strong antibiotic as well. I think I will try the garlic though, as NE is crawling with vampires.

Christina, how is Rhyko today?

Rhyko is still congested, but coughing less. Although he coughed about every 20 minutes all night. I didn't even properly fall asleep until 2:30. Between nursing and his coughing, though.... !!!

S'ok... I'm fine... really... doing great... nut.gif

Thanks for asking hug2.gif
