Poor guy greensad.gif. Hopefully he hits the upswing soon. Hang in there!

duh.gif Any ideas on drying out a Playstation remote? My DH is going to flip his shit when he wakes up! I got Conner out of bed, went pee, then found the controller in the dog's water dish.

You can cover it in dry rice or stick it in a VERY low temp oven, like 150 degrees for a short time. The same things that you would use to dry out a cell phone.

Just wipe it off and put it back. Act clueless when it doesn't work. Problem solved.
Lol.

J slept until 3:30 without waking to nurse. It's a new world record!

LOL Great idea. I think the water pouring out ofitwould give him a clue though. He won't even be mad at Conner. He'll be mad at me for not watching Conner! LOL

I would say the remote needs a new home in general. If it was out of his reach, it wouldn't have gone in the dog water.

I would unscrew it and set it out to dry either in a bag with rice or out in the sun if you have it.

Abra, I hope your ear infections clear up soon! I, too, have heard that garlic oil is a great natural treatment. My friend's dad used it on her when she was a kid and it always did the trick. Since I screwed up my ear from the inside thru my sinuses, I didn't try the garlic oil from the outside.

I *think* my hearing is pretty much back to normal (like maybe 95% there), but my ear still will not pop open! It's driving me nuts. greensad.gif I'm even doing ear pulling/jaw opening exercises daily to ease open the ear, but I've had no luck yet... I never had it pop open and ooze like some people describe happening. I wish it would!!! This has been what, 2-3 weeks now?

This is seriously the worst winter for adult ear infections that I've ever seen. I know so many people with them. Another friend of mine has a double ear infection and just ruptured both of her ear drums before she was able to seek treatment. duh.gif

Yeah, it is strange since ear infections aren't that common in adults. My ear drums haven't ruptured either and now they are both popping like crazy, so I suppose I'm on the healing side if things. They are still ringing though and things sound a bit like in under water. I also have a sinus infection, so in pretty sure that its all related to the same sickness.

I agree, just make sure the remotes are kept somewhere safe. It's not possible to watch a toddler all the time!

He usually does. They're usually up really high. He must have had a slip of mind last night. No idea. I left it sitting on the counter in rice and he didn't mention it to me, sooo... Maybe he walked around with his eyes closed all day? LOL

Well, that's not true. I wasn't sleeping at night AT ALL for like 6 months. I squeezed in about 3 hours in the late morning. Fitful sleep. Did a few things and my sleep is regulated and everyone is sleeping well and happy.

Okay, not in all cases.  But I think in Christina's case, there isn't much she can do other than wait for Rhyko to get better.  My DH has to take a sleep aid or he sleeps poorly and that can lead to a manic episode.  We are working very hard at getting his body healthy so that he can sleep naturally and normally on his own.  Sometimes things need interventions and sometimes you just have to get through it (mostly in regards to sick or teething babies).

Just about nothing is true for everyone, but if you're dealing with a baby that simply will not sleep, there isn't much you can do until baby gets over whatever it is that is causing the poor sleep.  Since we do not do CIO and I cannot rely on someone else to take over when Avery is not sleeping, I simply don't get much sleep.  And since none of my kids have slept well until they were 2+ years old, I figure this will continue for another year and that will put my total years of massive sleep deprivation around 8.  And since I'm not one to sit back and not do my research and not try new things, I've had quite some time to try just about every "fix" out there.  Really, nothing has made significant changes for my kids.  So it goes for a lot of us, unfortunately!  sleeping.gif

I've learned from the past two nights that Jasper will sleep solidly from 8-3:30 if we are not in the room with him. (Middle girls are with their dad, so we took advantage to have adult time in another room, then fell asleep. Blush.) I can deal with sleeping from 11-3:30, then nursing him a bit until morning! Too bad we can't make that happen every night. Major bummer.

I need more advice on this juicer conversation we started the other day. I mentioned to my DH about substituting that for energy drinks and he said he wanted to try it. Woo!!! Now, I have no idea where to begin, haha. Help?

What about starting with smoothies while you consider juicer options? I find that I cannot even taste kale when adde to a fruit smoothie. Spinach yes, but kale no. Just a thought!

You guys... I've had TWO nights in a ROW of awesome sleep after about seven nights of no sleep. I'm a new woman!

Don't be jealous, but both nights were 9 hours. Not straights, of course, but I'll take it!!!

I'd look for a juicer on Craigslist. I've used both a masticating and a centrifugal one and I like the masticating. We have an Omega.

I also have an Omega type one-gear juicer. It's much better for leafy greens and its more quiet too. It does take a little longer though.
