Was that my uterus « Back to Group Discussions

This morning when i woke up with my full bladder i decide to poke around for my uterus. I swear i felt a round firmness very near to my belly button. It was so easy to find. But after i pee'd i layed back in bed trying to feel for my uterus and it was difficult. I'm thinking that this could be it or not. Where did it go? I'm only 13w2d...I got so excited.

I'm actually finding it more difficult to feel mine now than the last few weeks - it hasn't popped yet, and the "edge" feeling is harder to find. I'm not going with it feeling different, smoother, than the intestines above.

Well i'm a bit "fluffy" to begin with so without a full bladder i don't know what i'm feeling.

I felt mine this morning too, it was like there was an orange in there.

I always thought your uterus didn't reach your belly button till 20 weeks, so I dunno. Maybe your bladder really pushed it up!

At 12 weeks it should be halfway between the public bone and belly button, roughly. It reaches the belly button at 20 weeks - in between it's not just growing up, but also out, since it "pops" out of the pelvic cavity.

I could feel the top of my uterus starting at 10 weeks, and so could DH (and mi midwifes at my first appointment), so I know it wasn't just in my head

I just barely started to be able to feel mine all the time while laying down. I'm 13w1d today. Mine seems to sit back farther than other people's. My friend was able to lift up her hips and you could see the perfectly round bulge at about 13 weeks. Mine definitely doesn't bulge up like that.

I'll be 14 weeks on Tuesday (I can't help but round it up once the weekend is here, lol), I can definitely feel mine when I lay down and there's no doubt in my mind what it is. I've been prodding my belly for weeks already! Hahaha. By 16 weeks I am usually able to see it rising up while I'm laying down. I am so happy to be feeling it now, I'm finally reaching the stage of pregnancy that I enjoy. Now I just need to see the back side of this constant nausea!!

mornimg time with a full bladder is the only time i feel it. oyher than that i feel my fluff.

I'm 14 weeks now and can finally feel it all the time if I'm laying on my back. And with a full bladder in the morning it is really high. Like above my pant line, a few inches below my belly button. But once I pee it's way lower again

Me too! Looks like we have the same EDD! I'm getting a bit frustrated since it seems like mine has only grown up and slightly sideways so far - I can't wait till it starts bulging out and I begin to look pregnant vs. just having a belly  I've been rounding up the week numbe on weekends too.

By 16 weeks I am usually able to see it rising up while I'm laying down.

Then 16 weeks can't come up soon enough!

I've been feeling my uterus first thing in the morning with a nice full bladder for a few weeks now. I'm just starting to feel it otherwise in the last couple of days.

This is my 5th, and I'm a little concerned or maybe just curious, because since I last posted on this thread it seems my uterus has grown extremely quick. It is literally up to my belly button now at 14 weeks exactly. At 12 weeks it was just where it was meant to be at my doctor appointment, 4 days ago I could feel it about half way in between my pubic bone and belly button and now yesterday and today it's up to my belly button. Doesn't that seem excessive? I especially notice it when I have a full bladder as it sticks out much more, but even with an empty bladder I can feel it that high. It's just strange to me, never had it like this before. You'd think after 4 previous pregnancies I wouldn't be so stumped! Its true what they say, that each pregnancy is different.

aoife - I think it's in thebeginning stages of bulging out  Not noticeable from the outside yet, but when I touch my lower abdomen it's starting to feel slightly rounded. For height it seems to have stayed in place the last week or so - the top is between 2 and 4 fingers below my belly button (depending on posture and how full my bladder is).

Yes, this is my first, so it's probably going to take a while for it to be obvious to others. Oh well, I'll just have to live with them thinking I'm getting fat again  Though I can't wait for the weather to warm up enough not to have to wear tights so that I can get out of pants and into skirts with elastic waists (of which I have quite a few)!

It's my first too and i think i'm in the beginning stages of the bulge too....I can't wait to look pregnant and not fluffier....lol....and i can't wait to feel my baby start moving around in there. I do think i feel him or her i had this little pop yesterday and today i think i felt a little kick or punch...idk...they say it's to early. I just can't wait now...

My belly has started to feel less yielding, you can't compress it any more. My fiance has gotten great amusement over how we go to hug and our bellies sort of "bounce".

I know what you mean Katalopolis. When I hug my OH, I have to bend over slightly because the belly is so in the way.

My belly is in the way now too. And my uterus is so sensitive. My dd loves to sit on my lap and always manages to sit right where my uterus is. Then wiggles herself in so she can find her comfy spot. It can get pretty frustrating but I know she has no idea what is happening.
