Nov. 2013 DDC is up!

Hey, there's a November 2013 DDC up now! This time last year were all getting BFPs and adjusting to the idea of being pregnant. Now we have babies who are all a few months old! What a change one year can make smile.gif

How is your life different now?

My toddler has finally adjusted to his new brother and loves him to pieces in a very "I'm going smother you with love" way. DH and I are still trying to get the hang of managing our home, budget, and time having our super active no-napping boy and a new baby. And as a SAHM, my new job is constantly keeping me on my toes. I sometimes wonder why in the world I thought I was busy having only one kid compared to now wink1.gif I am so deeply happy and in love with my boys, no matter the challenges they bring. I love to drown them in kisses and cuddles. Life is hard but oh so amazing!

That's crazy to think about. It'll be a year since we found out I was pregnant on 3/15. Since K is our first, our lives are totally and completely different now, of course! But in the best way possible. :) My husband and I both recently got new jobs close to home (mine is 5 min away and his is 20 min - we were commuting 40 and 50 minutes before!), so that makes adjusting to the working mom thing a little easier. I had to cut my maternity leave short by a month and a half, which sucked (though I was part-time for the first 3 weeks), but it will be worth it in the long run. I can see/feed K at lunch and it breaks up the day and makes it a lot easier to be away from him!

Well it was a year ago (Sunday the 4th last March) I got my BFP. Since this was our first, or lives have changed in huge ways. From adjusting to being pregnant, adjusting to a new, needy little family member, to hubby starting a new work schedule today. Second shift, I really don't like that at all, but it's supposed to be temporary....

A year ago today was Luthien's conception day! (She was conceived by artificial insemination, so we're certain of the date.winky.gif) It's hard to believe! Now she's twelve and a half weeks old and talking more every day. She even interrupts her nursing to smile and talk with me. This is a huge change, as she's a very frequent nurser (she makes her request every hour or even more often) and single-minded about it. We adopted our older daughter as a teenager, so the whole baby thing is new to us: exhausting and yet ever so fulfilling. She's our miraculous gift and brings such joy to our lives.

Of course, by talking I mean those cute squeals, squeaks, and scales, not actual words! twins.gif

today, 1 year ago, I got my bfp.  We were so excited, but also scared.  I had a previous miscarriage and the first trimester was scary for me.  But now we have a perfect 3.5 month old whom we adore!  My life isn't vastly different, just busier and fuller.  Having 3 little girls feels more like a crew when we're out and about.  Adjusting from 2 to 3 has been pretty easy- that's probably because my older girls are 5 and 6 and in school all day.  They're pretty independent and easy going.  Genevieve is doted on and loved by all of us!

Wow time sure does fly by!  Tomorrow will be the anniversary of our BFP.  It's easy to remember because it is also my husbands birthday.  It was funny because last year we went out for sushi on his birthday.  I was particularly moody and had been so busy I did not get DH a present.  When we got home I decided to take a test and lo and behold BFP.  I had a huge grin on my face as I showed him the test and told him I guess I had gotten him something after all.

Like Kateaton going from 2 to 3 has been pretty easy, albeit busier.  It seems like Owen grew from a newborn to a sturdy baby overnight.  He is starting to vocalize a lot with coos, ahhs, and cute little baby gurgles.  He seems to have regressed a little with his sleep patterns.  At one point he was only waking once in the middle of the night.  Now he is waking up constantly and I can not figure out what has changed.  It is making for one tired, cranky, Mama. Other than that everyone is doing well and I just feel so blessed to have such a beautiful family.

I'm glad Ana isn't the only one that nurses every hour. I was talking to my Dr and he said, "Oh she should be eating every four hours now." I laughed and said try two hours at best! She doubled her birth weight at 14 weeks, so he was okay with that. She only woke up 6 times in her 14 hour night instead of the 10-11 she's been in that same frame the past few weeks. weeks. I had to pump first thing bc I was making so bad, all knobby, and she had a hard time latching she was so tired. I took two oz from each side just to relieve some pressure. Then she nursed fine. Now she's cranky and tired, keeps coughing like she gets acid in her throat. Yesterday she had so many poppy diapers too. I ate a donut Friday night and some cookies my sil made. I'm thinking maybe that messed her tummy up? greensad.gif

It was a year ago on the 4th that I got my BFP, too, and last Feb the 24th was a year ago the day he was conceived (go go fertility treatments!). It's incredible to me that just a year ago, I was still on the long dark path of infertility, and now I have a nearly 4 month old laying all sad and sick in the middle of my bed, sleeping. Wouldn't trade it, sick grumpies and all.
