Grainy poop in 3 week old- Treating for thrush

Hi all-

DS has a terrible diaper rash and we both have thrush.  I used gentian violet last night and I am feeling a million times better, but I noticed a bunch of grainy, sandy bits in his poop today.  I was wondering if it could be candida die off?  Other ideas?
