i felt my 1st huge kick/movement two nights ago at 17 weeks (i felt random flutters before )...i was lying on my tummy reading & i felt a definite kick with the intent on letting me know i was squishing the bean & i needed to move over...lol.

You can still lay on your tummy!? That's crazy sauce. I haven't been able to comfortably lay on my tummy for many many weeks.

I'm still waiting to feel something I can definitely identify as baby. I can't remember when I've first felt it in the past. Starting to get antsy, lol smile.gif

I still sleep on my belly, too sometimes. Sometimes it's too uncomfortable. I'm 19w.

What I find weird is that I feel some movement but it feels so different from DD. She was like a fishy swimming and flipping. This lil bean feels like thumps and pokes? Does that make sense? Maybe it's just too early to feel the "swimming" movement? I'm 16wks4days. Any insight mamas? I guess it's possible to entertain this baby is different of course and moves different but I was expecting a similar feeling.

And to those who didn't think it was the baby and was just gas-- I bet you it's the baby! wink1.gif I especially notice movement when I'm squishing my belly and have a full bladder haha.

I have never felt any swimming motions or flips.  Only pokes and thumps.  This is my third and I am also 16 and a half weeks.

I felt the flutters really early on, but since about 13-14 weeks I have felt the kicks and thumps. Also some squirming and flipping. But nothing I'd describe as swimming motions.

Well that's so strange! It was very pronounced "swimming" feelings. I wonder why it feels so different. Hurry up May 3rd so I can get my US and maybe find out!!!

I still don't really think I can feel anything.  Every once in a while I think I do, but then I don't feel it again so I figure it was just a gas bubble.  My OB/GYN said it's nothing to worry about.  I'm 17 weeks 6 days.  I'm starting to get anxious about it, though.  I just feel like it would be a more regular reassurance than my monthly prenatal appointments that everything is going well.

lilmamita - I am in exactly the same boat as you! Sometimes I think I feel something but it doesn't last for long so I assume it was just a gas bubble, etc... I've been trying hard to concentrate when I am relaxed in bed and yesterday morning I thought I felt a few gentle taps (not really kicks), so I'm hoping/thinking that was the baby. I'm 18 weeks 2 days and I too am very anxious although my midwife tells me she's sure I'll feel things soon (this is my first). I had my last appointment at 17 weeks and the once a month thing just doesn't seem like enough (at least in this phase)... I've even considered having my 20 week anatomy scan a week early because I am so frustrated with the lack of feeling this little one but my midwife (& DH) think I should wait and reassure me that everything is fine and just to be patient. I'm sure it will be different when we start feeling movement, but this waiting game is ridiculous!

Yesterday I discovered that this baby really likes chicken Madras. He went mental in there when I was eating it! At this point I know what sort of things make him move about and also when he's likely to kick lots throughout the day, which is nice. But it also means I'll worry more if I don't feel anything!

I have decided that I started feeling the baby move about a week ago.  I'm 19 and a half weeks or so.  I wasn't sure for the first few days that I was feeling the baby move or if it was just my intestines, but after some consistency I decided I probably am feeling it move.  Its pretty neat and fun to feel it move.  Yesterday on the way home from work it kept going "tap tap tap."

Nettlesoup, the baby has good taste!  I really like Indian food, but my husband does not, so we compromise and go to Thai.  I get curry, he gets something else.

I'm 19w 4d and still felt anything even remotely baby like. I try in bed to stay calm and concentrate but nothing. It didn't help my friend saying I should have felt something by now, hers felt like butterflies. I'm getting worried. I got my 20 week scan next fri so hopefully that will put my mind at ease

Since the placenta is in the front, I feel very little movements which has been worrying me. Today I got a loan of a fetal doppler, and it's fantastic. I sat and listened to my baby's heartbeat for 20 minutes. I could hear him moving around inside, when I would go over where the placenta is I can hear the swooshing of its blood flow. It was very connecting. If any of you worrying can get your hands on one, go for it!

Serena, you really don't need to worry. It could be the placement of the placenta, and besides, apparently a lot of people won't feel their baby move until nearer 22 weeks. I look forward to hearing about your scan next week.

Has anyone felt flutters and movement that feels like it's coming through the cervix?! I felt that later on with dd so it's weird to feel it at 20 weeks this time.

This baby's movements feel different than dd's.
Yes swissmiss! I didn't get much movement down in my nether region with dd because she was Frank breech pretty much the whole time. This baby moves lots more and kicks realllly low. I also get those kicks in my nerves down there... Very uncomfortable.

He must be head down today because I have felt him a lot around my cervix. Kinda uncomfortable because I feel like my cervix is doing something which I doubt it is but with all the Braxton hicks I've had today it is concerning.
