Guess what? Mine could care less about girly things. I am actually annoyed with Disney princess crap given to her and am not pushing that on her. She's not into girly stuff. hates dress up too! Mind, she's only 3!
She's got a super sensitive head so we cut her hair in a bob and let it be. No ribbons, no bows. I never bought frilly dresses for her and didn't force her into them for Easter or Xmas. We would do a fun tee from Old navy with jeans. She loves Star Wars and angry birds. Plays duplos with daddy. But loves watching mama put on makeup too, when I can stand it. That stuff doesn't matter. Girls are amazing and I'm so happy I have a daughter.
In the future when she's a teenager she might be like I was and be rebellious. Hopefully I will be ready for it. Or maybe she won't. I feel like every kid will go through a phase and will go from attached as a child to independent as teens/adults and that's just human nature.
There is no hard and fast rule that says because you are a tomboy and don't get girls (I agree there-- they drive me nuts too and I'm the chick with all the guy friends) that your daughter will or will not be a certain way. There is no right answer here, but I love raising a girl and had to chime in!
