Howdy, December mamas! My babe is a younger one of the bunch and not yet 2 months old. He started smiling about 3 weeks ago and that has been so much fun, especially for my daughter. She wants to hold and play with him all the time. My main thing is I have to tell her to not talk to him when he's in a half awake state. She always says, "But he has openy eyes!"

How is everyone else? I put out a challenge to post one sentence here! For me I don't post as much because I don't have time to do a significant one, but please pop in and just give a shout. I think a tad here and there will be so fun to hear about after those months of gestating.

Love the challenge! Been so crazy over here. Finally in Wales, YAY! Sorting out car insurance so we can drive = nightmare. Hopefully moving in to a house on Friday, but it's getting rough being in limbo still.

LO is being great, lots of smiles and sleeping well at night. Still wakes up around 6am every morning with grunts, strains, crying, some spit up, and finally a giant poop or two.

Eden just turned 2 months yesterday - how time flies! I've been down the past week with what turned out to be strep and a sinus infection. And I have to go back to work tomorrow. And my supply has tanked with this illness. Grrr.

Eden's so sweet and wonderful that - besides the recent events - I have little to complain about.

It's fin to hear how others are doing!

Pepper is also 2 months now and a little sweetie.  She is very very plump, smiley, cuddly, and still wants to be held most of the time.  She doesn't exactly sleep through the night, but as we share a bed, most nights I get a good night's sleep.  I'm not really sure how much she nurses in the night since I'm always half asleep and don't have to sit up with her, but I think her average is every 4 hrs still.  She's been making lots more sounds and loves to lay on her back for a bit and have a conversation.

Looking forward to spring strolls and sunshine!

Hey mamas and babes!  We're all just so dang busy these days, aren't we?  I tried to make a birthday cake today on top of taking care of my two littles and I am just wiped out!

We're sleeping just ok at the moment.  True was giving me a 4/5 hour stretch at the beginning of the night, and then 2/3 after that until late morning.  Now he's up every two hours and up for the day earlier.  Sad.  I hope we get back on track soon, I'm getting pretty grumpy.

He is a sweet thing though.  I am just in love, as we all are, and loving watching him grow and learn.

I love the updates from everyone!  I think of you often, and hope everyone is well.  I will try to post more later...

Erin, sounds like Judah is sleeping like True! Sleep was great for a while, but yeah, we are up every few hours. He's either in the co-sleeper, in bed with me, or on my chest. Little snuggle. But the days of nursing him back to sleep in the morning are over for now! We are up around 8 every day, with a nap around 9:30 on my chest in the mornings.

We are getting over a cold over here. Judah's first one and my first of the season. I've been using EO's and think that they have totally helped in shortening this thing! Judah is a sad mess though, I hope he's over it soon.

Today is DH's last day of school for almost two weeks! He's on spring break next week, then only 8 more weeks of classes! My MIL is flying in from Texas tomorrow and gets to meet J for the first time. I'm excited to see her, since we haven't for almost two years, but also a bit nervous.

I took Judah record shopping yesterday! So much fun! He slept on me, anyway :)

Hope all of you mamas are well!! Here's a recent of J:

Anyone started to deal with teething? I think we're beginning to see signs...had a green mucusy diaper today, as well as some "ouch" bites while nursing. He's been drooling up a storm and is starting to chew on his hands alllll the time.

chica,

Pepper has fussy teething spells fairly often now - I can see and feel her teeth pretty well and she is gnawing on her fist and my fingers whenever she can.  My babes usually get their first teeth at 5 months, but teething can go on for months before they actually pop through.  We use the hylands homeopathic baby teething tablets - she also likes a little whiskey rubbed on her gums.  xo

Hi all!

Looks like another month is flying by! We're doing well here too. Last month, our entire family had a bad cold that, unfortunately, progressed to RSV for Hassan and we ended up spending a few days at the children's hospital. There's been a mini baby boom in our community - 3 of the moms from our Girl Scout troop, including my Brownie co-leader, are all expecting in the coming months. She was surprised because she got pregnant again while BFing a then 6 month year old, but it can happen again pretty quickly! It's nice to relive those pregnancy memories with them.

Chica, glad you and your family are getting settled in Wales. The NGO I used to work for is headquartered in Birmingham UK so we used to travel there fairly often. That whole region is lovely, enjoy!

Erin and Natalie, seems like Hassan has almost the same sleep schedule, he wakes up around 7am every day really active and ready to play, then takes a longer nap again around 8 or 9am. It's so fun watching he and Zainab, my older daughter play and interact with each other. We're slowly getting into a new routine but I'm also in the middle of a job search, which I feel ambivalent about. It's financially necessary but I wish I had a bit more time home with the kids. With Zainab, I stayed home until she was 10 months then taught at a school with childcare onsite so it was easy to nurse her on my breaks and prep periods. I'm just hoping to establish a good pumping schedule that allows my milk supply to stay up. A few weeks back I saw my dissertation advisor at school and he was like, "Oh, you must be getting so much writing done now that you're home"...yeah right! Nursing and typing one handed at the keyboard...the writing is slow going needless to say :)

And yes, we're dealing with some potential teething over here too. Hassan started acting fussy, drooling, and chewing on his hands for the past month. My mom said I had 2 teeth at 3 months old, so it's definitely possible. Kel, have you tried rubbing garlic cloves on Pepper's gums?

All the babies are growing into such cutie patooties, keep the pictures coming! Here is one of Hassan from last week stillheart.gif

Take care and stay well mamas!
