How to avoid scheduling the dreaded GTT? - Page 2

I was told I need to fast for 2 hours before the appointment and drink the drink an hour before and within 10 min. I asked if there was an alternative, and he said I could eat Jelly beans (Which i HATE).

He said if I did not want to do this, I would have to test my blood sugar daily, like a diabetic.... with one of those pocky things. So, I am just going to drink the drink.

My midwife said I could do a regular sized snickers bar as an alternative. I don't remember absolutely hating the drink when I had it with my first. It wasn't great, but not horrible either.

I don't mind the drink but I've never had a reaction to it either. I just booked my GD screening for beginning of April when I will be 28 weeks. I can hardly believe we are already so far in our pregnancies that we are doing this screening-time is flying by :)
