Looking for experience from mom's who went into labor early

I am looking for some input on my fundal height/feeling huge-ness. According to the average of all the due dates I have been given this pregnancy I should be roughly 32 weeks tomorrow. At my U/S 2 weeks ago they said baby was measuring ahead and moved my due date up a few days. The last few days, especially today, I have just been feeling massive. Not really weight wise but belly size and having such a hard time finding anything that fits me. I have been doing my own measurements and BP and using my doppler to do my own prenatals at home but have had a handful of prenatals with my OB too, and my notes have always matched what she has said. Anyway, I finally broke down and pulled out my measuring tape and measured my fundal height and I am measuring 35 cm! I was measuring 31 cm 2 weeks ago! Baby is moving a lot and I am really struggling to rock DD to sleep and am winded climbing upstairs and I am getting so crabby. I don't know what to think. Ever since around 28 weeks I have felt that I may go up to a month early but now maybe I actually could! My first babe was 5 lbs. 10 oz., second was 7 lbs 14 oz., so it's not like I have huge babies. WTH!?!?!? Can babies just grow faster and decide to come out early?

ETA: I don't have any GD and I am certain on my dates.

The difference in your fundal height and feeling "huge" could well be due to baby's position. Are you able to figure out what that is?

She is head down but posterior.

If the baby is moving a lot, that's a good sign that there's still room in there to move! Things just stretch out so much faster the 3rd time around, and I've never heard of changing the due date this late in pregnancy off of notoriously bad u/s measurements!

When mine came early (37 and 38 weeks), I didn't feel different size-wise (because I always felt like I couldn't get bigger, but then I did!), but I did feel less comfortable (back and pelvis, etc.).

She feels like she still has room to move but for me it feels like I have a tent pole from my pubic bone to my sternum! I measured a few more times today and I got 35 cm a couple time, 34 cm once, and 36 cm once. I made an appt for Friday so we'll see what the OB says. Maybe the baby is just trying to hurry up and get out so she doesn't have to keep getting elbowed by her sister when she is on my lap. orngtongue.gif

I guess I could as an experienced mom whose baby came early but it was way early, at 27 weeks, and had nothing to do with size but rather an infection.

I am under the impression that initial ultrasounds (like, less than 12 weeks) are very accurate for establishing due date (but would only actually change your due date if off by 1 week as compared to dates based on your period), ones done at 20 weeks are MUCH less accurate, and IMO anyone trying to tell you that your due date has changed at 32 weeks is just planning ahead for scheduling your induction.  Sorry.  Fundal measurements up to 3 cm different from your weeks gestation is normal (especially in a 3rd pregnancy), more than that it might be due to too much amniotic fluid.  People usually seem to have a "growth spurt" right around 28-32 weeks.  Babies do a good job telling us when they are due, by putting you into labor at the right time (in most cases), and all the guessing of mom and OB are never as accurate.
