no pacifier - when will she sleep on her own?

Hi everyone,

We used a pacifier for sleeping with my first. Now my second is 6 months old. We co-sleep.

She'll fall asleep either nursing, or in the ergo. I can nurse her to sleep on the bed, but she'll wake up in about 20 minutes if we're not laying with her.

It's all good for now... but when can I expect her to be able to stay asleep on the bed for longer without a pacifier?

We also never swaddled and I don't want to start...

My daughter was sleeping on her own for naps and stretches of the night by six months.  We never used a pacifier.  We swaddled until around 4 months but it's often recommended to stop by around 5 months, so it wouldn't make sense to swaddle your six month old anyway.  Every baby is different though, so "expecting" her to sleep on her own depends on her personality and what kinds of assistance you can provide her to help her learn to self-soothe.  I really liked the No Cry Sleep Solution for helping get my daughter to nap longer during the day without having to nurse her down every time.  It might be worth a look.
