Sensory Play for Babies

Hi, I am a SAHM with a M. Ed and I have a blog that focuses on open-ended play and sensory play for infants through preschoolers.  My activities are budget conscious and can all be done at home.  I just started my blog (at my friends' request) and am trying to get more readers so I don't feel like I'm talking to an empty room!

If you're willing, please come check it out at:

I have also written a post on what age is best for beginning sensory play here:

Thanks!

No, thank YOU!  Wonderful ideas.  Do you use Pinterest at all?  I've pinned tons of sensory play ideas.  I just need focus and motivation to use them more with my 10-month-old.

That's so kind of you to say!  I do *try* to remember to pin all of my posts to Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/acitr/fun-at-home-with-kids-activities/), but I'm much better at remembering to update the Facebook page with the new posts.  If you "like" the Facebook page, any time there's a new post, it should show up in your Facebook feed.  My fan page address is www.facebook.com/FunAtHomeWithKids.  If you're just getting started, I'd recommend this activity.  I created it to give people a little "push" since you already have all the materials on hand - you can do it right now!!!  ;)

All the activity details are right here:  http://www.funathomewithkids.com/2013/03/super-easy-sensory-play-ice-and-warm.html

Awesome!  Thanks, Jaxy!

For everyone else, here's the latest in a series of simple sensory plays for all ages (including babies), using two or fewer ingredients, and using items generally found in a home:

Really neat!  Thanks for sharing.  I've been playing with colorful scarves and some music with my 6 month old but was wondering what else to do.  This is a great resource.

LilyTiger - Oh scarves and music are some of baby X's favorite things as well!  Glad to hear that it's useful!  :)

Hi Babysdailywork!  Thank you!  I'm glad you found Jessie, too (Play Create Explore).  She's AWESOME.  So is Crystal at Growing a Jeweled Rose and Cathy at NurtureStore if you are looking for even more ideas.  :)
