I found out (by email, I could not wait once I decided to know) that we are having a girl. The consignment sale I co-chair starts tonight, so I get to do tiny girl shopping. What is sweeter than newborn clothes?

Woohoo! Congrats on your little girl, Leigh! Shopping for girl clothes IS tons of fun. :-)

So exciting Leigh!!  Two more weeks and I get to find out too!!

We put an offer down yesterday for the house.  Now just waiting to see what they counter offer with.  We gave them a week because its a short sale and it takes longer for the bank to reply.  We can pay full price if necessary, but thought we might get them down just a smidge.  So exciting!!  I could be almost full time farming this time next year!!!  Yay!!!  It's been way too long.  Haven't had a decent garden that I was able to tend to the whole season since I met DH.

19 weeks today and this bean sure does like to squirm around a lot.  Loving it!!  If I have this baby during my 39th week I will be half way within the week.  Crazy!!

Cathy, I'm surprised by how wiggly my babe is too at 19 weeks! It's going to be fun when he's 7-8 lbs and moving this much at the end!!

Congrats, Leigh!

I've felt a lot movement today too. I think I'm 17 weeks tomorrow

I'm so excited for everyone!  We're 15 weeks and feel like I'm way behind all of you.  :/  So, I guess I'm the only one still feeling like first trimester, huh?

I've been a hormonal mess for a few days...crying for NOTHING.

I'll feel sane again soon, right.

I'll be 16 weeks on Monday and have been feeling movement for awhile but definitely more. Monday's my u/s to check on my SCH and hoping it's smaller and hoping the babies are both measuring the same. I am so worried about one of them falling behind and having growth issues. Finally feeling a little less nausea and only threw up once this week.

Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA!  Life got busy... :p  Trying not to think about the pregnancy too much because I'm having creeping anxiety.  I wish I were feeling real movements.  I wish we had caught the heartbeat better at my last appointment.  I'm SO glad my appointment is Thursday morning - it can't come fast enough.  I'm now pretty much 100% I must have an anterior placenta...  Either that or the alternative I'm fearing that I don't want to think about... :(  Oh, 16 weeks tomorrow.  I am pretty big - at least as big as last time and I felt HUGE then, so... :p  But still I'm worrying.

Leigh, exciting a girl! :D

Cathy, good luck on the house purchase!

16 weeks here and feeling a little more movement but still not much. I still have to be pretty still and laying down to feel it distinctly. My midwife appointment went well this week, heard a nice strong heartbeat.

On a sadder note, my mom is in the hospital with sepsis. They have no idea how she got it as she hasn't had any medical procedures recently or any known infections. I have seen a big decline in her in the past few months (years of alcohol abuse and not taking care of herself have taken their toll) and she isn't a fighter. My dad isn't telling me a whole lot of details but I can tell he sounds worried. It sucks being a thousand miles away....

Leigh - so great about a girl! I have two of them...prepare...for...DRAMA in your future, lol.

Calladona - any particluar reason you are so anxious? It is still early to feel a lot of movement and my midwives still have to search around for the HB with my little one. (he/she likes to hide apparently!)

Cathy - I hope the offer goes through!

Jacksonmom - Feel better soon, being hormonal stinks but it is normal, I was crying last week too!

For mamas waiting to feel movement and nervous, I will be 20 w on Monday with second and JUST started to feel it and only sometimes-not constantly. Hope you can reassure yourselves that it's just not time for them to be beating your ribs with their feet! smile.gif

For mamas struggling with sickness/first trimester feelings- check the aging hyperemesis thread. It's not that active now, but most of us in there were (are) throwing up way beyond first tri. Get some love from our barfy, nauseous group! smile.gif

CrunchyMama, I am sorry to hear about your mom. You're in my thoughts.

Has anyone heard from Stormikris? Wondering about her and hoping she's bearing her complications with some personal peace.

I'll be 17w on Monday. It is my first, so I'm not sure if what I've felt is wishful thinking or the real deal. My new job has been exhausting the past 2 weeks. Today is my first day off in 12 days. At this moment, I'm a vision of sloth. It won't be this busy again until early August, but will have the desk job side of it. I'm trying to decide when to use my days in lieu that I've earned. Save as many for just in case I go into labor before due date? Use them to have a nice 4th of July long weekend?

What healthy recipes are you cooking? I've been subsisting on delivery at work, and crave healthy food. But when I looked at the nytimes recipes for health (my usual go to for tasty, wholesome cooking ideas) I got turned off. I feel like this baby is making me crave and eat hamburgers and fries. I'm usually a vegetarian who cooks exotic grains.

lol  Yeah, this morning I got several kicks felt on both sides at the same time, which was really cool.  Though I was getting worried not feeling anything when I woke up most the night.  They can still hide at this stage and you just can't feel them kick for awhile.

Sorry about your mom crunchy.  Hugs.

Thanks guys, I'm really only worried because I felt this baby early and I felt my last two early, but then I really haven't felt much of anything since.  So I worry something happened. :(  But realistically, if the placenta was smaller and not covering the full front, I'd feel something early, but then if it grew to cover the front, that would explain it.  Still doesn't make me feel better.  Hearing the heartbeat well will really reassure me...  Just 5 more days...

I have definitely had those concerns, Calladona. I felt little things at 13-14 weeks, but it seemed much less just a week or two later. I'm getting more distinct thumps now, but it's not yet consistent at 18.5 weeks. We had trouble finding the heartbeat earlier this week but could hear lots of movement. I think it's the time when there's lots of room for baby to hide! I was told my placenta is posterior but mostly feel kicks on the sides, so I've been wondering.

We went to the art museum for a field trip yesterday, then I thought I'd take the kids to the zoo. Managed to turn my ankle before getting the nice walk in I was hoping for. greensad.gif Thankfully it's a lot better today, but now I'm feeling an upper respiratory infection starting. Ugh!! greensad.gif

I got to talk to my mom this afternoon. She is lucid and coherent and doing MUCH better. There is on sign of organ failure from the sepsis so it looks like they caught it in time. It's still a mystery how she got it, they think it might be a case of cellulitis? I just hope they get to the bottom of it and really rule out any underlying factors or complications. Anyway, it was good to hear her voice. With her declining health I have just gotten this bad feeling that something awful was going to happen before this baby was born. Hopefully it's just hormones getting the better of me.

On the up side we started putting in our garden today! Getting really excited about that, and the DDs are having a blast helping.

HEatherB - there had been so much sickness going around this winter, it seems everybody is getting sick multiple times. I hope you get better soon. I highly reccommend garlic tea with honey and lemon (crush a clove of garlic, add honey, lemon juice and boiling water and seep for 5 to 8 minutes). Elderberry is great too.

Calladona - I hope your fears are put to rest at your next appointment. FWIW, some days I feel movement but it is very sporadic, I can go days without feeling a thing.

We had our second midwife appt this week.  I met another midwife on the team and didn't like her.  It was like going to the MD.  She was telling me the things that I had to do during my labour, like Doppler every 15 mins after they get there then 5 mins when in active labour, I don't think so. I had just finished telling her that I didn't want the Doppler again (we had it at 11 weeks for heartbeat) and that I didn't want anyone telling me how my birth was to be.  I hope she doesn't attend my birth, lol.  One of my sisters is a doula and a bulldog, maybe I'll have her at my birth!

Other than that, I have also been having anxiety, but completely irrational.  Like Friday I went out for drinks (non-alcoholic) with a friend who didn't know I was pregnant.  We hung out for a couple of hours then she went home.  I went home and had a breakdown because she was going out to the bar and I wasn't.  I tried taking the P-choline as I was descending, hoping to stop the descent, but it was a couple of hours of insanity.  I'm hoping to balance out and not to have this carry on to postpartum.  I will be encapsulating my placenta, but seriously, I'm not feeling like myself.  (I'm also taking GABA and EMP from truehope.  Does anyone have any other suggestions for anxiety, hormone balance? The Midwife said to start taking evening primrose oil, but everyone else says not to take it until 35 weeks at the earliest.)

One of my nephews keeps asking me when I am going to bring over the new baby, lol.  When I told him we are going to have a baby he said, "Where is she?" (All the nieces and nephews seem to think it will be a girl.  Yay!)  Then he said I needed to get 'set up' and had me lie down on the ground and took all the pillow in the house and packed them around and on me with blankets and books.  I wish I had someone to get me 'set up' everyday!

CrunchyMama, that's crazy they don't know where the sepsis came from.  I'm glad they caught it.  I have a friend who had two of her brothers pass from sepsis.  They never found out how it developed.

I'm not feeling a lot of movement either, but sometimes it feels like she is pushing my kidneys, really hard.  My babes says he felt movement yesterday.  The kidney pressure was crazy, then after he had his hands on my belly for a few minutes, it subsided.  He said he was either feeling gas or the baby, lol.  I had Cranio Sacral last week and the baby was moving like crazy.

All the best everyone.

Blerg.  My belly button ring is bothering me and I waited too long to order my "maternity" piercings with the longer flexible posts.  I'll have to tough it out until they show up in my mailbox and now my midwife will scold me tonight because it's all red.  redface.gif

CrunchyMama, so jealous you get to start your garden!  Mine is still under a foot of snow, although it's melting quickly.  Glad to hear your mom seems to be on the mend!

We plan to plant snow peas and spinach in the next few weeks.

I had a good u/s today; my SCH has shrunk to half its previous size. Praying it continues to shrink and doesn't harm the babies.

Crunchy, glad your mom is doing better

Carmen, glad your daughter is doing better.  We did a round of RSV and hospitalization when my DD was 11 months.

Edelweiss, YAY for good news!

Hope everyone else is feeling well and feeling baby movement.  :)

This was my Facebook announcement.  It turned out cute and went over well. :)
