need opinions: fermented cod liver oil AND fish oil?

I am trying to really make sure I get the right fats, but for some reason I cannot wrap my head around it.  As a type I diabetic, I am very much up on a lot of nutritional stuff but this is the one I don't get.  Sigh...  I guess my real question is whether you all think this is a healthy list of fats to have in my diet.

Currently my fat comes from:  dairy (including heavy whipping cream, cheeses, kerrygold butter), coconut oil (about 1 T/day), sparse olive oil (I don't cook in oil very much, but when I do I normally use EVOO, I make mayo with non-EV OO maybe once a week and use maybe 3 or 4 T of it over a few days), fatty beef (I have some almost every day), eggs, and salmon (once or twice a week).  I just ordered a bottle of greener pastures fermented cod liver oil.  And, I'm wondering if I should also have some fish oil in there or if the CLO covers the need for fish oil.

If this is not the right place to ask, does anyone know of a good place to read about it?  I already looked around at the weston price site and didn't find an answer, but might have missed it.

Thanks!

I am no expert- but Greaner Patures I believe is the optimal blend of omegas.  Did I read that in NT or Radiant Life?  I can't remember.  My kids and I take the FCL/BO blend and I am not worrying about any other oil supplement.  We get the rest of our fats from our grass fed raw dairy, beef, pork, cocounut oil and a little bit of olive oil.

If you are just concerned about the fats from the fish oil, those are covered from taking the CLO.  I don't consider CLO to be used mainly for the fats, though - you are wanting the vitamins from it as well.  So, you may want to make sure you're getting the important vitamins and then decide if you need to supplement with an additional fish oil (I would think skate oil would be a good one).

Thanks you guys!

I'm wondering if the clo/bo tastes better than just clo?

Hmmm.... that makes sense, like a teaspoon of CLO is plenty for the vitamins but may or may not be as much fish oil as you'd want?  I'll go read a bit about the skate oil.

I personally felt like the CLO wasn't enough fish oil, so I've added wild salmon oil capsules (from amazon) which probably doubles my intake. I'm sure I could take more. We don't end up eating fish as much as we should, so this fills the gaps. I feel that even if we ate a lot of fish, CLO itself is still very important to have.
