Agreed, it totally feels like that to me too.  But women can walk around like 4cm dilated for a month so...meaningless!  And you can be totally closed and then go into labor the next day.  There are so many factors that dictate when you go into labor -- some ignited by our bodies, some ignited by baby.  I try not to think about it too much or else I'll go crazy.  LOL!

Also -- in the chronicles of "way in which our pregnancies are similar," my baby is also ROA.  But all my babies hang out in that position (rather than LOA) until labor! It's got to be something about my physiology/pelvis but I'll be darned if I know what it is.

BeanBean -- It is definitely normal to have BH without feeling them.  It's actually super common to notice while palpating a woman without the woman realizing she's having one!

I'm amazed how many of us have/had babies hanging out in breech! My midwife referred me for a quick US 2.5 weeks ago because she thought baby was breech, and she was right. I've been to the chiropractor for the Webster technique at least 10 times since then and have gotten acupuncture once and been doing moxibustion daily for the past week. I have another acupuncture appt tomorrow, which I am SO looking forward to, and an appt Wednesday to check baby's position and meet an OB who could do a version (if we opt for it). I seriously can't tell if he's still breech. I think maybe he flipped after acupuncture last week and perhaps flipped back? I don't know.

I'm getting TONS of BH! More than I remember with DD. This baby also seems to get the hiccups less than DD did. I've had a hard time reaching my cervix, which is strange for me. It must be really high due to pregnancy, but it's super mushy soft. I don't think I've dilated much yet. I'm in no rush to have baby on the outside yet :-)

One thing that has been weird for me is how anterior my cervix can be already. If I tilt my pelvis forward, baby's head pushes right up against it and pulls it WAY forward. Like I don't even really struggle to reach it!! Or maybe after all these years (and especially after giant DS last time that I had to reach around) I am just gettig so used to reaching that I don't notice it. LOL

Oooh, here we go with another round of the dull period cramping pain. I wonder how many weeks I'm going to be dealing with this stuff.... I never had any signs of birth (that I noticed) leading up to DD except for the day I knew something was off and made DH bring home a blood pressure cuff. I was right and was induced the next day. dizzy.gif So far, I'm not feeling any impending birth  happening but I have been really wanting to get my hospital bag together these past few days. I've been so busy but I think tomorrow I will finally get a chance to head to the store for the remaining items. I should go double check the thread for that...

I think it's the way 2nd babies go.  I had a lot more prodromal the second time around and all my friends who had BTDT told me they had experienced that too.  I was fully expecting even more this time, but surprisingly no.

On the plus side, most of us had quicky quicky straightforward labors so all those weeks of "practice" paid off!

All through dinner and now I was experiencing the throbbing sensation on and off. Now it's accompanied with lower back piercing pain in the tailbone area and I was having to stop walking mid-step for a couple of minutes. I'm not thrilled with the idea of weeks of this but whatever it takes I guess. Now it's going to be a guessing game until she makes her debut.

Well mine was never accompanied by piercing pain so maybe this is different and you'll go into labor super early.  Just sharing what I was told at the time by friends (and what ended up true in my case too!).  :)

Both DH and I are okay with early but we'd prefer she wait until at least 37 weeks (the 22nd). ;) I'm going to go lay down and see if they go away.

Last night I had 3 straight hours of inreasingly uncomfortable cramps, which occasionally radiated into back pain.  Felt just like early labor. But, it slowed down after laying down for a while, so all's good.  36w2d, so I suppose I'm about into the "safe zone" of term.  I'd be happy for an early baby, but I'm still fighting a cold, so I don't know how I'd manage through labor if I can't even breathe well in normal situations at the moment!

I cannot tell the difference between baby's head and baby's butt. One of the sits up near my ribs all the time. I'm constantly trying to push it down LOL. Last week my midwife said baby is breech, and we'll see again this weekend for another midwife appt. I probably won't start any type of turning techniques until around 36 weeks as I'm only 33 weeks now. But I'm not really too worried. I know baby can turn even right before labor starts, and I feel baby still has tons of room to flip.

This happened to me with DS2. I had prodomal labor from 34 weeks on but ended up going 41 + 4. But like you said, my labor was a quick 4 hours so I guess I'll welcome any prodomal labor this time too if it shortens my labor that much. DS1 was a 16 hr exhausting labor.

After my last post last night I headed to bed where the contractions got stronger before finally dying off. I never got a sense of urgency like I needed to head to the hospital so I just relaxed until they went away and finally fell asleep. I'll be happy if this shortens my labor with DD2 for sure!

Today has been a little crazy" I almost catwalk anymore without kicking off BH with strong pelvic pressure or challenging cervical feelings. It is good practice for relaxing into things but surprising.

Is this because it's been 12 years or because this is my third? Whew!

I am a little surprised too.  But then I realized technically no one due in April is later than 37w1d, which is still pretty early.  And for some reason it seems like we are heavy on the later EDDs too.
