Hi everyone! Wow this thread has been so active.
I just wanted to drop in and say hello, and that I won't be able to keep up with you guys as often as I'd like. The handover went relatively ok, but we still don't have the keys because 1) they need to fix the issues we had and 2) the terrace is still not done because of the snow fall we had last week.
My days are completely booked for the next four weeks . We have to really start planning the move, pack, and do a 1000 things in-between that I'm starting to freak out a bit that I don't have as much time as I thought. I'm spending this afternoon on the phone organizing the move.. eeeek.
I ovulated quite early, CD12! I think the Guaifenesin really helped thin CM out a lot. Now the TWW officially begins 2DPO. It feels like yesterday I was ranting about all my symptoms. I'll do what mamacats suggested and just temp for the next couple of days. You know, to avoid the crazies...
Have a lovely week ladiespost #43 of 3423/18/13 at 9:17amThread Starter
Mamacat-Many blessings your way on keeping the zen!!
LilyKay-Hang in there!! Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate!
For all you GF'ers my best friend discovered these crackers recently and I'm in love!! They're like Cheez-Its, but whole grain and GF and so delish! AND they were at our Wal-mart so they're affordable too! hint...the bigger wal-marts have a GF section in the pasta aisle, of all places http://www.vansfoods.com/our-products-all-gluten-free# I'm kinda eating them for breakfast right now
My finished spice shelves from Saturday I've been wanting to do that for 2-3 years lol and it only took a few hours, mostly cuz the paint had to dry between coats... and I was so impatient that the paint was barely dry when I put them up
The only part that was there were the walls and bottom where the toaster oven sits.
Stayin pretty zen w/the whole TWW thing. POAS this morn, bfn-not surprised... It's CD 25 so I still have between 3 & 6 days til I know for sure for sure one way or another....post #44 of 3423/18/13 at 10:00am
I need some of y'all's zen energy to rub off on me! I took lots of good walks this weekend and tried to focus on the beautiful pre-Spring blossoms, but I also found myself re-calculating when I would allow myself to test, as if I could not count to 10 right the first time.
Today I am 7DPO, and I finally ran out to the dollar store to get some affordable tests on a work break. Before now I had been buying the expensive grocery store ones, so testing very, very rarely. Now that I have a stock of tests, I want to test, test, test!
My last cycle was confusing to me: either my new b-100 vitamins had successfully extended my luteal phase from 10-12 days to 14 days (as I had hoped they would), or I had a very early loss. After the emotional confusion of not knowing what happened, I decided that I would to start testing at least the day after my expected period- so I would know one way or the other.
prescottchels- Love the spice shelf! You have been busy this weekend!
mamacatsbaby- I am in GA, too! And love your Big Dipper chart.post #45 of 3423/18/13 at 12:43pmHope things settle down for you soon LilyKay, so much going on in your world! Drop in when you can and best wishes for a mellow as it can be TWW .
prescott: I looooooooove crunchy-cheesy things . I have a serious cheese straw addiction that I try not to indulge too often . I will have to look into more Van's stuff. We used to get the waffles for a grain treat sometimes but DS1 can't have the soy so we just haven't worried about it. I see the cinnamon cereal is soy-free though! We have a cereal addiction too and so don't keep it in the house (easy for us to get re-addicted to grains period lol so we buy them not so often). The kids would love a bowl or eight for a special-day snack though. Nice job on the shelves! Funny how things seem like they'll take more than what we think we have at the time but when we get into the thick of it and get it done we really open up that energy. Wishing you peaceful heart, body, and mind as you ride out the rest of your TWW .
earthwalker: I was getting an "I'm in GA!" vibe from you and I have no idea why . I'm enjoying the Big Dipper likeness of my chart so much that I don't want to put in today's temp lol. Wishing you heaps of mellow as well my dear as you approach testing time .
Me, seems like I'm finally getting ready to O. Getting dull O pains from my right side mostly and this has been the first day of EWCF so we'll see! Hope you ladies are having a wonderful Monday .post #46 of 3423/18/13 at 2:28pmPrescotchels - I love the shelves too! We have a host of things here that need sorting, and have been (sort of ) getting started... We pretty much gutted the place 4 years ago when we bought it (it was 4 years old - but had had very many tenants (4 bed with a family of 9?) and everything was worn... Anyway we still haven't put tiles on the laundry or kitchen (which were new) have tried to call tilers and save cash - but failing both are going to buy some and self install - 😜 should be a blast! And hopefully not too messy... Sunday we sanded bleached and painted the ceiling water marks from when the AC hose came loose... Let the next 4-5 days go quickly for you - with a great end result!
Mamacats - yay for O I have my fx for you this cycle big time...
Earth walker - sending you zen vibes, lol but you can be zen and poas you know... Tricky but look at Prescottchels - poas bfn, no stress... Lol but it's not easy, I didn't manage it much last month... Fx!
Lilykay - wow you sound soo busy! Here's hoping the house is perfect soon! Just try and logically work through stuff without spending too much time thinking of the 'whole' otherwise it gets too intense... Lol and utilize any fam and friends there to help pack! Good luck with it, I'm sure your tww will fly by!
Afm - I'm cd3 almost fin AF, and am only going to temp around O time, otherwise just focussing on romance this month... Lol as the psychic told me too 6 weeks ago!post #47 of 3423/18/13 at 9:18pmThread Starter
Earthwalker-I recalculate too! lol Why is that?!
In case you don't know... on Amazon you can get super inexpensive HPT's called Wondfo. I got a box of 50 and they come out to like 30 cents each.
Mamacat-I love cereal and crunchy snacky things too, which is what cereal is for me these days or dessert lol right now I have cinnamon rice chex. I wish there were more GF organic cereal options, though that could be dangerous
Chuord-you crack me up.
DP is super into affirmations so I started saying one to myself and I think it has helped me w/my zen-ness. Whenever pregnancy thoughts/worries whatever pop into my head I say, "I'm pregnant w/a healthy baby this cycle". Today I had a bit of bright red spotting which is not normal for me...implantation...? Hmmmm...post #48 of 3423/19/13 at 6:56am
Hey, all, what does FX mean? I tried looking it up, and I found some funny possibilities...like "french kiss"...but um, I imagine y'all have something else in mind...
prescottchels- I wish I could have already gotten some from Amazon. What a great price! Unfortunately, to get the slight smaller quantity (20) it has to be purchased as "an add-on item" with an order of at least $25. So I am waiting to earn one more $5 gift card from the online search-rewards site that I use, and I will finally have the $25 in credit to place an order. Woo-hoo!
I love your affirmation. I used mantras a lot when I was going through the emotional recovery of my unplanned cesarean. They were essential to my healing process. Thanks for the reminder that this simple tool is available to help maintain balance while TTC.
chourd- Yes, you are right. I can POAS and remain zen! Like I did yesterday! Of course, it was BFN. I was testing in the middle of the day on 7dpo. But I just *had* to try the new tests...
mamcatsbaby - Let's hear it for EWCM! It might sound weird, but I think it is the coolest thing. And I actually think it is pretty.
AFM -This morning I had my first couple of possible signs-
1) I woke up around 4:30am with this feeling that I was suddenly going to throw-up, but it went away immediately.
2) My chart *might* be going triphasic. I would want to see a couple more high temps before I can say for sure.
3) For the past couple days I have had super vivid and weird dreams. I didn't realize this could be early pregnancy sign until I saw this site this morning.post #49 of 3423/19/13 at 10:32am
Prescott- your shelf is super cute and functional! I love when you can make things user friendly and they don't have to be ugly! Hope that was implantation for you!
Lilykay- Yikes! That's a lot at one time. Take care and it will soon be over and you can relax in your new place
Mamacats- Catch that eggie
Chuord- I've been thinking about contacting a psychic lately. I think I need a extra pair of spiritual eyes to help me out with this process. At least it might give me a little hope.
earthwalker- FX'd is fingers crossed. It took me a long time to get that one too! Hope all of your possible symptoms mount to a bfp soon!!
AFM- CD11 gearing up to O. I have a RE appointment tomorrow to discuss if he thinks iui is the way to go or try something else. I had the nurse practitioner for my last cycle and she is real iui pushy. Every time I see the Dr. he hasn't pushed it at all so who knows what we'll end up with.post #50 of 3423/19/13 at 3:20pmEarth walker - feel free to post a link to your chart... Lol we can also be zen and nosey 😛
I sent myself almost nuts last month symptom spotting, it's fun but can be stressful... Good luck with it!
Just Jenny - I hope that you get some clarity from your doc, and that it's the right process for you... Sila on the scenic route thread just had a stimulated iui (4 poss eggies ) and her bfp at 13 dpo is the darkest I have seen lol we're waiting to see how baby may have stuck... Re the psychic, I went to someone recommended to me - she does it internationally via a chat room... I made a list of q's and most importantly to me I decided what q's I wanted to know and which ones I was willing to know... If that helps? As in I asked how many children, but couldn't ask how healthy or if they would live to adults - as that would've been to much to deal with... How to conceive for me etc... Hope you get a decision that's right for you!
Mamacats - happy BDing for you!
Prescottchels - do you chart?
Ok I had a lighter AF, one flowy day with two spotters either side, I think I'm focussing too hard on my uterus as it still feels obvious... Ok obsession over - well I keep telling myself lol...
Happy zen ladies!post #51 of 3423/19/13 at 4:46pmprescott: That's one of the most challenging things about grain-free living is that I miss my crunchy snacks! So I take periodic breaks . Love the affirmations and I hope that was implantation! I didn't mean to rhyme that .
earthwalker: I agree with chuord, let us be nosy as well as zen . And yeah, EWCF is amazing stuff!
Let us know how your appointment goes JustJenny!
Alright chuord, bring on the romance! Anything special lined up or are you guys just going with the romantic flow .
Me, nothing much going on. CD.....13 . I don't feel the boatload of crazy and that's fabulous . We'll see if I fall apart as I near the end of the TWW, whenever that gets started . I'm thinking I might O tomorrow on CD14 but we shall see. I've got so much stuff I want/need to do and not enough time or energy to do it! Books I want to read, doing things with the kids, housework, cooking, shaping up the evaluation portfolio for DS1's school stuff, activities for the kids, celebrating spring equinox, movies/shows to watch, writing to do, etc. and so on and on lol.
Hope this Tuesday is winding up nicely for you ladies!post #52 of 3423/19/13 at 5:19pmMamacats - I feel you on the list of things to do! Instead I'm having breakfast watching reruns of antm - woops!
Yay for the calmness you have going on fx it gets you through the tww!
Re romance, nothing coming up - lol except my parents visiting at just around O time... So there goes the wild and wacky around the house lol... (Oops!)
Ok to help me get my timing right, last cycle (my only complete temp set) I O'd on cd19 and had a 14lp or dpo... This month ff has me O'ing on the 15,16??? My cycle was 2 days longer than standard but??? Lol I'm guessing I'll just have to temp... Also I'm on day 2 of antibiotics for a sinus thingy... Will that affect O do you think?
Thanks for the zen ladies xxxpost #53 of 3423/19/13 at 7:03pm
Hi ladies! I have kinda been lurking for a while and posted a couple times on previous Saner TTC threads. I had kind of taken a step back from TTC stuff because I've been trying to get some health issues sorted out and it was stressing me out further. My hormones are "off balance" according to my bloodwork, so I'm trying to get that all figured out. I'm trying to go about it naturally so have started recently going gluten free which I see a few of you are gluten free also. I have felt overall just so much better the past few weeks since I started eating gluten free which has definitely made the transition easier!
Anyways, I'm just starting a new cycle so I thought would be a good time to jump back in, even though I have no idea what my chances are this cycle as my hormone issues likely aren't completely cleared up (but hopefully on their way). And I can definitely use some help staying sane!post #54 of 3423/19/13 at 8:50pmThread Starter
Earthwalker-those signs sound promising!
JustJenny-Blessings on your RE appt tomorrow
Chuord-No, I don't chart these days...too erratic of a schedule, but I did for a couple years a few years back. I guess I could temp in the morn and see what I get. I know my resting temp, so it'd be interesting to see if it's higher or not.
I don't know what your regular flow is like, but that sounds awfully light...
Mamacat-do you guys make veggie chips? When I was grain free last summer kale chips were my go-to crunchy salty snack, but other things are great too like turnips, or zucchini. Think 'Terra Chips'. Basically any root veg you can turn into a chip plus lots of other things. I eat a lot of salted nuts too, which you can salt and flavor yourself. If you get plain nuts like almonds you can soak them in lemon juice and then salt them or spice them and then roast them in a cast iron skillet til they're dry and starting to brown and they're soooo yummy Right now I've been doing a nut parfait of sorts in a 1/2 c tupperware type container. Almonds, raisins, sunflower seeds-repeat
Chuord-I think some abx can effect things, but if you need them you need them...take extra vit C and probiotics to help your system get back on its feet and not too whacked out by the abx.
Beckerooo-Welcome back!! and welcome to the gluten free club lol they say it can help fertility quite a bit! So
I've had some brown spotting-which is typical pre-period for me, since my bright red spotting, which isn't normal so...hmmmm...did some research and the brown spotting can be a sign of low progesterone, which is a big reason for beans not sticking, but everything I've read to increase progesterone naturally I'm already doing so...I guess I just have to wait some more CD 26 today, still mostly zen. I think and I've changed my affirmation to "I'm pregnant w/a healthy sticky baby this cycle" I thought the sticky part was an important clarification to make to the Universe
Also, I was taking Vitex (chasteberry) capsules but I read it's contraindicated for pregnancy so once that was a possibility I stopped taking it, but it's listed as one of the things to increase progesterone and a lot of women seem to continue taking it into early pregnancy so I have no idea... any experience out there?post #55 of 3423/19/13 at 9:35pmchuord: All kinds of sickies can delay O. I cosign with what prescott said on the probiotics and C. Straight, fresh lemon juice has been excellent in our arsenal here . Hope you're feeling better ASAP . I was wondering if maybe this allergy/coughing thing I've got is messing with O for me too .
Welcome aboard again beckeroo! I can't help but think of the show when I see your username . I hope your hormones start cooperating with you soon and I'm glad you're feeling less stress and ready to jump back into the mix. GL to you this cycle!
prescott: Yep, we love kale chips . I need a dehydrator really (actually, with the amount of cooking I do what I really need is a commercial kitchen; oh how I wish I was joking lol) b/c it takes so long to do zucchini chips and stuff in the oven and I can't do big enough batches . We definitely love our root veggies here . DS1 is allergic to most nuts and seeds so no-go on that for him. He's never shown a reaction to almonds but his skin-prick test says he's allergic . He can eat pumpkin seeds though. We're working on gut-healing so I don't give him pumpkin seeds usually. I love this pumpkin seed pesto that I make though . So garlicky and delicious .
I like your affirmation change-up. It does feel better to speak the clearest of our intentions/desires into existence doesn't it . Nope, no Vitex experience though. I hope you find an answer that works for you soon.
Me, we got up super early this morning and will be doing so for the next few days so I'm pretty pooped. for me. 'Night all!post #56 of 3423/20/13 at 6:07amMamacats - Prescottchels... I have a dehydrator, I'm a huge fan of degydrated mango in lemon juice... I've been looking for good recipes for veggie chips that I can use ( as they're my fav) but I haven't found one yet that works... I'd love a link or anything you can offer... Yum just the thought gets my saliva flowing lol!post #57 of 3423/20/13 at 8:17amThread Starter
Mamacat-I've seen dehydrators at Goodwill and Salvation Army thrift shops. They're pretty common if you visit regularly. So many people get inspired, buy one and then never use it.
Chuord-I don't use recipes for dehydrating lol I just slice a bunch of stuff up and throw it in w/whatever spices I want to use as flavoring. What has been your issue in the past?
All this talk of delicious things has me thinking I might have to go to the store to get some veg so I can bust out the dehydrator!! I haven't done any dehydrating in a long while...
I've added another affirmation... "My body makes the perfect level of progesterone to maintain this pregnancy". I'm practically commanding this baby to stick lol Stick damnit, stick!!
As if it's gonna listen w/that kind of pressure
Meanwhile...curtain making & book shelf painting are happening here today plus buying baby chicks and getting them set up for my best friend at her place. I can't wait to snuggle me so cute lil fuzz balls!post #58 of 3423/20/13 at 1:47pmOh hugging baby chickens - so soft and smooshy lol!
Prescottchels, the problem I have is that they dehydrate - like shriveled peas or carrots you take camping lol... So instead I've tried the oven, I've tried partially cooking them first, the best result I had (I mean only chewable ones) were deep fried - not the way I wanted to go! So I'm desperate for a solution, I reverted to the bought ones - as I was desperate for a flavour... Ideally as well as root veg, I'd love to do string beans... But they all just shrunk and go hard as nailspost #59 of 3423/20/13 at 3:35pmI would love to start making my own veggie chips too! Ill have to keep an eye out at goodwill and the thrift stores next time I'm there.
Prescottchels- I'm jealous that you get to play with baby chicks! I can't wait to one day not be stuck living in an apartment. I want to bw able to have animals and garden!!post #60 of 3423/20/13 at 4:32pm
hey, y'all...sorry this is quickie post to say that i will figure out how to post my chart soon, although it is a bit of a mess...there has been so much time differences in when i took my temps that I think that this creating an appearance of triphasic rise. but i have decided to test tomorrow (10 dpo). look forward to writing more tomorrow.
