Thank you! Actually, they did send the results later in the evening, after all. Now I only half believe them, but it says I'm having a boy. So, fun if I do, and fun if I don't!
Are you finding out?? - Page 2

well, DH is sure he doesn't want to know beforehand so... While discussing it with him I realized that I want to find out but I don't want to tell anyone else (like family/friends) which I came to realize is totally unrealistic. I couldn't keep a secret like that. So, for now we're waiting until October.
This being our last, I was all set to have a surprise! (and felt it might make it more exciting if we have our 4th girl) I am SO terrible with surprises though and already find myself cracking. One thing that drives me crazy is not feeling ready if it is a boy. I tell myself that we really don't need/use much, so it really wouldn't be a big deal. The type A in me just won't except that though. DH keeps telling me that he's fine either way, but then it seems like he's trying to convince me to hold out. So I'm still undecided, but doubt I'll be able to resist!
For my first pregnancy, I wanted a boy so badly, and was so convinced it was a boy. When the us tech said flatly, "it's a girl," it was so anticlimactic, and I was so disappointed. I definitely needed time to get used to the idea of having a girl.
This time DP wants a boy and I'm trying so hard to be neutral, but all I can think of are girls names! I felt awful about being disappointed last time.
We will find out, but I think I'll have them write it down on a card and have someone make a pink/blue cake or something this time...
I've never found out before with my five (only ever had 2 ultrasounds) but I have an appointment Friday so we can take a peek. It feels so weird to me but seems like the best thing for the kids, since the youngest two have such strong preferences and my oldest even said she'd like to know, which was the most interest she's expressed thus far. I'll let you know! I have four girls and then finally came our boy. Another boy would be sensible, but who knows?
Oh that wasn't verbatim, she said something along the lines of, "it's probably a princess...I don't see any testicles there, and this here is probably the labia minora, but in two weeks when the baby is bigger it will be more obvious and certain at your anatomy scan and then you can be sure, but probably it's a girl." I just paraphrased and rounded it up to '90% probably girl'
I was 19 weeks yesterday according to them. According to LMP I was only 18 weeks + 1, but the first ultrasound at 11 weeks said I was measuring ahead to 12 weeks so they adjusted my due date up 6 days. I'm not sure I believe that. Meaning, when they think I'm 37 weeks and 'full term', I may still think twice about having a homebirth, because I'll believe I'm only 36 weeks and it's less likely that lungs are finished developing. So I'll go along with their counting, except I'll be mentally waiting an extra week towards the end before I'm really sure about going forward with a homebirth.
