Stains on pocket dipes, already??! Ideas pls

Hi all, I am posting this in the Diapering Forum but I think traffic might be a little slow thru there so posting it here also.

I just started CDing a few days ago. We use pockets (microfiber inner, bamboo inserts) and my DD is EBF. I am using Country Save detergent and washing every other day, and while the dipes are getting clean, some of them are already stained.

Other than sunlight (outside drying isn't a viable option for us), what can I use to get rid of/minimize stains?? Pls some of you experienced CDing mamas, help!

Thanks

i used cloth diapers in the hospital as well as now at home and use rockin green. it even got the meconium out without additives. i swear by that stuff. sorry i can't be any help, just wanted to spread the love of RG.

Hey there! A couple of questions-- Are you just doing one cycle? Do you have hard water in your area? I ask because I had hard water when I last CDed (haven't gotten there yet with this babe and might not!) and I had to do a few cycles in order to not get stains. I also live in a cold area where outside sunlight/drying isn't an option most of the year.

Thanks kellybeth, I know about RG, but I had to go with the least expensive CD safe detergent (at least this time), sounds pretty good if it got the meconium out on its own though, thanks for the suggestion.

there's also a great fb group page for real diapers to help with questions, they're pretty fast with responses there.

Hi loveandgarbage, yes I think our water is hard. I've just done cold rinse, hot wash, two cold rinses as recommended, u think I should add another hot wash in there?

I used Crunchy Clean which you can buy on Etsy. I tried a lot of detergents, including Country Save, and but found CC to be the best. I had to really experiment with my wash cycles to get the dipes clean and unstained. I ended up doing a cold wash without detergent, two hot washes with detergent (and also lavender and tea tree oil) and then another cold wash without detergent, sometimes with vinegar. Honestly it kind of sucked! I was really jealous of CD mamas who could just do one wash!
