Measuring large?

We are having an ultrasound tomorrow.  But, I've been soooo anxious about this since our last check-up with the midwife.  At 18 weeks, I was measuring 23.  So we started freaking out about twins.  Anyone else measuring that much bigger?  This is my second pregnancy, so I know it could be totally normal.  But, my midwife said it was significant enough to at least check it out.  Agh!

I hope all goes well! I'm expecting twins and am measuring ahead of course but we were super excited for twins and had been hoping and praying for them.  I know people who have measured way ahead with single babies, too, though.

I was measuring a good bit ahead (though we weren't really measuring, just palpating) at 13-14 weeks. I was pretty convinced it was twins but we found just one baby. There are, apparently, a variety of reasons that one could measure "off", and we didn't even definitively figure out why I was. My MW suggested intestinal interference of some sort. headscratch.gif But now I'm apparently right on.

Do let us know what you find out! I was excited about the prospect but know it will be enough to handle one more on top of my 4. smile.gif

For what it's worth, my midwife has been measuring all along, but yesterday my shadow care doctor said they don't start measuring until 22 weeks because that's when it really starts correlating.  I  guess you'll find out soon enough!

When we went in at 18 weeks, my midwife said the same thing (we will start measuring at our next appointment at 22 weeks because only 20+ weeks does it really "work.").  I can totally feel my uterus and it changes a LOT from day to day (not always further up), based on how I am positioned and, especially earlier on, how much I've had to drink and when I went to the bathroom last.
