Gentle Birth Formula moms....

Those of you who've started it...what do you think?  Has it made any obvious difference for you right off the bat?

I actually started mine just a few days early (not even the full 1st weeks dose) but it definitely seems to keep my uterus tighter.  I'm not sure I'll attribute any dilation to it though since I dilate by leaps and bounds from here on out on my own each time (I'm 2cm for now), but otherwise I *think* I can feel it just kinda keeping my uterus more active.  I don't know for sure...it does seem to be more effective when I drink my RRL tea shortly after, though. (I got the one w/o RRL just because I drink so much RRL tea on my own time and I didn't feel it necessary to have more)

Mine should be here today or tomorrow. I'll post if I notice anything. Coming from a very tranquil pregnancy, any amount of activity or contractions or action should stand out!

I am using Dr. Christopher's. I am 37 + 4. I have definitely noticed stronger ctx. This is my first pregnancy using these herbs. I'm optimistic! Anything for a quicker, easier birth!

Mine came in the mail today and I will take my first dose this evening with dinner. The only thing I have ever used before labor was EPO and RRL, and I didn't use either one consistently. If this helps at all, I will be pumped! So far I am not having very many contractions of any sort, and I am only 1 cm dilated (and I am probably always 1 cm dilated).

What exactly is it?

An herbal tincture (I believe) which is intended to be taken in the last 5 weeks until your due date, in hopes of:

less pain during labor & delivery

advanced dilation before discomfort is felt

shorter and easier labor

shorter recovery time

Uh... okay, so I took my first dose a few hours ago. I've had a lot of BH contractions since then, which is new for this pregnancy. Could one little dose really cause that? I am going to drink some more water before bed. It kind of weirds me out!

I had a noticeable change almost immediately, too.  However, as the reviews said, most women got an instant increase in contractions and then they tapered off over the weeks.  So maybe that's what is happening.

Which one did you ladies order? I'm intrigued...

Also... Is this something you would recommend I take alongside the RRL capsules I have or in place of? I'm ready to try anything that could help my odds of a shorter labor at this point.

I got Gentle Birth Formula from Mountain Meadow Herbs.  Mostly because I love their products and am really familiar with them, and I prefer a tincture form.

I am still taking my RRL tea 2-3x/day (which is about 2-3Tbsp/day).

My midwife gave me Dr. Christopher's Birth Prep capsules at my checkup this past week, but told me not to start it until I'm 37 weeks because they've seen it make such a big difference right away. So I'll start it Tuesday when I turn 37 weeks and we'll see what it does! I didn't take anything special with my first two pregnancies: #1 was 9 days past her EDD and #2 was 4 days past his EDD. I hope it moves labor up by a couple of days! I'm already at least a little dilated because I did a self-exam tonight and I could fit a finger through my cervix and felt the BOW!! Very surprised by that... orngbiggrin.gif

Argh. I can't bring myself to buy this for some reason. It probably doesn't help that I'm reading mixed reviews on it. Also, with my somewhat high BP I wouldn't want the cohash and I wouldn't want the RRL because I'm taking the capsules already.

Speaking of the capsules though... I started them yesterday and both yesterday and today I've had noticeable something going on. Probably only BH but I have certainly felt it. Hoping for more progress!

I started my GB Formula yesterday, or the evening before that, I think. No BH contractions or anything yet. On one hand I'm thankful, and on the other, having no BH yet makes me a little worried, like, will I contract when it's actually time!?
