TTC after Mirena removal and chronic pain condition

Hi all! I frequented these forums when I was pregnant with DS1, he was born July 5th 2009! Since then I had cancer, got divorced, and have a boyfriend now who I've been with for a quite a while.

I took my mirena out about 4 days ago. No signs of spotting or AF yet, I hear it can take a while for your body return to normal, but I've read threads about conceiving almost immediately. I'm sure we will just DTD  pretty regularly until I can ge tit figured out! Haha.

My worry right now is my chronic pain disorder. I just got denied disability and got a lawyer, so he's working on my case for me. I have a pain management doctor, oncologists, therapist, and all that. I've been on some heavy medications, but I'm tapering down and right now I'k just taking Lexapro and Klonopin for PTSD. My pain levels are generally a 7/8, but I've actually been feeling a bit better since I took the mirena out, but I know I will need some kind of medication during pregnancy.

Anyone been through anything like this? Anyone have a baby while they had a chronic pain disorder? Were you able to find meds that were safe and worked?

Were you on mirena? How long did it take for AF to come back? How long were you trying to conceive?

It sounds like you've been through a lot. I'm going to be no help but just wanted to say Hi.

My cycles became very regular after Mirena when they had not been regular at all before Mirena. I spotted from day 6-9 but then I ovulated exactly 2 weeks after my Mirena was removed and I got my period a short time after that. However, I waited 3 cycles before TTC just because I wanted to give my body a chance to recover from the hormones. I'm not sure if that is necessary, but I read a thread today in which someone was afraid that recent Mirena use had caused her to miscarry and then read stories about women being more likely to miscarry after Mirena. I don't think there is any evidence for this though.

I can't help you with the medication questions. You should talk to your doctors about finding pregnancy-safe medications.
