16DPO and finally got a positive pregnancy test result, should I be concerned?

I just got a positive pregnancy test after my period was a few days late. I'm in shock I think, because the pregnancy tests I've used for the past few days since my period was late have all been negative, so I thought it was too late to get a positive result. I'm 16DPO and have read other women seem to get a positive result much earlier, is this anything to worry about?

As I am learning daily, you will find plenty of things to worry about over the next 9 months. But try not to let it be this. 16DPO is a totally normal timeframe for a positive. I've heard of healthy babies from pregnancies that didn't show positive until 20+ days. Congrats, mama!!

My first pregnancy, iwas still testing negative at 17dpo... pregnancy ended in a healthy baby boy.

I don't think it really matters how long it takes you to get a positive test. So many things could vary just slightly, resulting in a negative, and so many of those things are meaningless.

I think that's a little later than average, but it's completely within the realm of normal. Assuming a 14 day LP, I think that 16 DPO would make you 1 day late for your period (expected period at 15 DPO). The day after your expected period is often given as advice for when to test and get a definitive result. Obviously most of us don't listen and test earlier though!

It's also very possible that you ovulated a day or two later than you thought! We think we know these things, but the truth is that our body is still a mystery in many ways...

I usually have a 10-11 day LP and with DD1 and DD2, I got faint BFP at 14 days, so that would 3-4 days late for me.  I don't think it is odd or reason for concern.

I was super surprised when I got a BFP with DS at 10dpo.
