Ugh! Figures. I had a flood of bright red blood yesterday, plus the biggest clot so far. Thought it was my period, but it seems to have seriously tapered back again.

I'm not doing anything particularly stressful or active... though I have been attempting gradually longer walks. I also feel the area aching again, like when I use the bathroom. Weird.

sgsnyder- I had that for about a month... ARGHHHHH.  I would stop bleeding for about 4 days, then BRIGHT red, and gushes and clots for about 20 minutes, then nothing for 4 days, then the same thing.... over and over.... It was so frustrating.

Finally my bleeding has really gone away, just slight spotting of old blood.  it will stop!

Doing okay... I hated to sit in a normal position for several days after birth, though. I had 2 skid marks and one supposedly tiny 2nd degree tear. The skid marks have not been an issue at all since 1 week PP, but the other tear (not stitched bc they said it was so tiny it was not worth it) is sort of raw. I haven't had the chance to do any sort of sitz bath, but will today. I also pushed out a hemorrhoid when pushing, but that's reduced somewhat with witch hazel. On top of this, I am dealing with some ("minor") incontinence-- pee dribbling as I stand up after wiping, etc. My MW said it's from the body adjusting to not having the pressure of the baby on the bladder, so I can go many hours without peeing and then not fully empty my bladder, if that makes sense... Basically, she recommended I force myself to pee at least every 2 hours to retrain myself, and I'm trying to do that. Plus kegels, and I think squats would help.

i'm a little over a month PP and i still have to tell myself to go pee. it has gotten much better though, since earlier i couldn't tell if i had to pee at all. kegels are helping!

I am having a new issue. I am 5 wks PP - (no tearing this time) we have dtd twice in the last few days (maybe that is my issue :P) it didn't hurt at the time, but afterwards the 2nd time i got achy and felt this horrible pressure down below the next day I was fine, then today - 3 days later, the pressure is back and it is all the time walking around etc - I can't figure it out but for the first time since 1 wk pp I feel like I need to take something for the pain .. I've never had pain like this with the others at this point.. I can't even tell if its related to the sex or if it is because I've been wearing DS nearly all day every day :P

Thought I'd revisit this thread. I don't know if anyone is still dealing with this. I'm a bit behind everyone at 5.5 weeks pp. Technically I think my 2nd degree tear is "healed" by hospital standards but I still have a ton of sensitivity and can't IMAGINE having sex yet. The desire is this but... Anyone still have sensitivity at this point? Any ideas? Going to ask my OBGYN about it but he's pretty useless so I figured I'd put it out there here too.

I didn't tear this time but it is still sore when we dtd... I think we have 4-5 times since babe arrived.... I think we need to get some lube to help (sorry, tmi ....) I had a bad 2nd degree with dd1 and it was quite sore for many months. Takes time.....

I find I'm sensitive even in areas that didn't tear. Like my clit is super sensitive to pressure and sometimes feels weird even when I go to the bathroom. Not sore really but just sensitive. It is slowly getting better tho but I'm at 8 weeks out so I guess it just takes time.

OK I don't feel so anxious now. Thanks for weighing in on this. :)

Yeah I had bad 2nd degree tear and originally had stitches that were too tight which I think also made for less fun healing. I'll have to be more patient. ;)

I felt the same way at 5 w pp, but somehow TONS better at 7 weeks.  My 2nd degree tear was so tiny, they recommended against stitches, but still-- 2nd degree is not nothing!  Sitz baths helped keep infection at bay, I think.

yes- it just takes time.  i felt that way for a long time after this birth, and no tearing.

now, at 10 weeks out, everything is totally back to normal.  i think.  pretty much.  hang on, what's normal again?

My midwife is a huge fan of having everyone do perineal re-education after each birth. In France every woman aparently does this. I'm a little unsure. It just seems like yet one more indignity to deal with. Also my pelvic floor muscles seem like they are strong. I've never peed myself when sneezing or anything. Anyone have experience on the pros and cons of this?

I have the same thing! It even happens now at almost 10 weeks pp, though it's less and less frequent. It's feels sort of like a muscle cramp.

Oh maybe that's what it is! Or pulled ligament or something. I guess pushing so hard affects everything down there I just never thought about it until after!
