My midwife is a huge fan of having everyone do perineal re-education after each birth. In France every woman aparently does this. I'm a little unsure. It just seems like yet one more indignity to deal with. Also my pelvic floor muscles seem like they are strong. I've never peed myself when sneezing or anything. Anyone have experience on the pros and cons of this?
i'm very very interested in this, but have never done it. i always heal up and don't have a family history of prolapsed uterus. i think knowing your body and how healing is going is key. i tend to be muscular and strong and spring back from things really quickly. my perineal area seems to have this quality too. my MIL and her family have prolapsed uterus happen to all the women. exercising did help keep it at bay for her. but childbirth really wrecked her lady parts and she never got them back into shape. at 10 week PP though, my muscle tone is almost back to normal though i'm still a little dryer than usual and it takes me a long time to warm up. i'm so tired. distracted, overwhelmed, and it's hard to focus sometimes!
so, it's on my radar and i'd love to hear other mother's opinions/experiences!
