looking for good kid books on:
new sibling arrival
tandem nursing
home birth/birth

anything you and your little ones have really enjoyed would be great! my little guy is 2--so anything on the more simple side with lots of pics would be great!

I have one called "my new baby" I think. It shows a toddler (could be boy or girl), mom, dad, and baby. It shows mom nursing the baby and dad changing diapers among other things. It also shows some big kid things the toddler is doing like using the potty and eating food at the table. It's very sweet and simple and while it doesn't show tandem nursing per se, it does show that baby nurses a lot. DD often brings me the book to read (she'll be 2 in about a week) but I don't think she understands yet. I'm sure once SHE feels the baby kicking and moving, it will help connect the dots. I'll keep my eyes on this thread for more ideas. One thing I want to get for her is the nursing kitty: stuffed mommy kitty that comes with three little kittens that latch on magnetically. It's SO cute!

I once nannied for a family who had a beautiful homebirth/new baby book called Welcome With Love. The kids were 7 and 4 and they still loved reading that one, but it's still simple and sweet enough that I think it would work for younger kids. It's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember after the new baby is born I think the whole family eats soup and cuddles together in front of the fire. So sweet.

Oh my goodness!

It looks like this is the same book, different title: http://www.amazon.com/Hello-Baby-Jenni-Overend/dp/1845071107/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1363872179&sr=8-2&keywords=welcome+with+love

(I don't know if that link is allowed; if not, the book is called Hello Baby by Jenni Overend.)

I just remembered about the book "Purple Hair" which isn't really educational, but is a really fun story about a mom who is expecting a baby and imagining what it might look like.

The recurring line is "Purple hair, I don't care, I'll love my little baby anyway."
