I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm pregnant with baby #2 and still nursing my 18 month old son. Our son was a total surprise, but this pregnancy was planned. I had my IUD removed Jan 14th and I figure I was pregnant within a week! I found out about this pregnancy right before a vacation, which is pretty much exactly what happened with my first. I guess I just really like going South while nauseous, tired and unable to drink the ridiculously cheap beer. ; )
I'm due around October 6th. I live in a remote northern community in Canada's Yukon Territory, and we have no real hospital facility here. Women are recommended to travel to the capital city, Whitehorse, which is 500km away, at about 38 weeks. I've decided to have a "home" birth there. I've got a midwife (who was willing to do the birth here, but my husband and I are more comfortable being close to a hospital should an emergency arise) and now I just need to find a home away from home for a few weeks!
So far I've been feeling okay, queasy and tired a lot of the time but never actually puking, so that's nice. People ask me if it feels different from my first pregnancy...it's hard to tell, because back then I wasn't chasing a toddler around!
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
