My ankles feel sore on occasion after i've been on my feet too long.

My DD keeps me busy. Busy and walking. Busy is good, walking is painful. Is anyone else having pain in their ankles? Is that just from all the extra weight?

Ugh. I had a lot of sciatic pain earlier in my pregnancy and I'm SO GLAD it stopped. SO painful. The pain that replaced it really sucks too, though! When I get up in the morning or during the night to pee, I seriously feel like my pelvis is going to break if I don't brace myself on furniture and walls on the way to the bathroom.

My ankles are fine, but I would definitely think it would just be from the weight.

Is anyone else starting to feel like they're going to be the last one to give birth? I'm getting so ridiculously impatient and I'm only 40 weeks today! I'm thinking about getting acupuncture, but I should probably wait another week.

I do.  We have tried everything we can think of to get this little girl to come out.  I can not find any acupuncturist around here that will do pregnancy induction stuff.   The three I talked to said that their insurance has not let them do that sort of thing for about 8 years now, but I know several woman who have had it done in the last few years.  So maybe this is just another thing to add to the reasons natural minded woman should not try to birth in Texas.

At the moment my ankles and legs almost up to my knees are swollen and pit.  My hands, face and stomach are also swollen, but do not pit.  I am so, so wanting to be done, but not wanting to have to go in to be induced this Thursday. I want this little girl to decide to come on her own.

I figured I probably won't be THE last since my EDD isn't the latest, but sitting at 41 + 1 today... yeah, definitely feeling some serious impatience. ;) Especially because if she doesn't make her appearance in the next two days, we will have to be induced Tuesday, which I REALLY don't want! So Ancoda, I definitely understand your frustration! How far are you?

I consider myself lucky that I'm not facing an induction. My midwife will let baby cook as long as he wants as long as everything still looks good. But my biggest concern is that my parents are coming to town at 42 + 3. While it's likely that I'll give birth by then, I REALLY want a few days alone with my baby before my parents get here. Ideally, a week would be nice.

I hope you're both able to have those babies soon and avoid induction!

I am 40+ 5 today.   I was with a very nice Midwife, but my BP was doing some weird stuff, so she transfered me to an OB.  The OB wanted to induce last Thursday, but I insisted on being able to at least go to 41 weeks.  The OB is going to be gone Monday afternoon till Wed afternoon, so we induce on Thursday if this girl does not come by then.

Sami, I hear you! I wanted the same thing, but baby girl apparently had other plans - my parents are getting in to town tonight, LOL. Now that I'm really sick though I'm actually grateful since it looks like we'll need more help than I initially thought.

In a perfect world I would hold out to at least 42 weeks even to be induced (the one we have scheduled is 41+3) but I do have medical reasons. angry.gif It's been really stressing me out... but now with everything that has happened this morning I am REALLY hoping this little girl will make her debut on her own in the next 48 hours and we will be able to skip the induction!!!! Praying....

Ancoda, good luck to you too!!! I seriously hate the feeling of being on the clock.

Storygirl, from everything you've posted, it really sounds like you're going to have that baby soon!

I am SO hoping that is the case!!! I guess we'll see what they tell me in L&D later this afternoon....

I have a strong feeling that it'll be soon for you, too, storygirl smile.gif

Uggh, i also feel like i'm going to be the last one here to give birth. I really thought i was in early labor last week but apparently not. Then i thought that with all that activity it would happen before the weekend. Well, its now Sunday and i dont feel any closer to the finish line greensad.gif. I am going to stop predicting because that just makes me feel disappointed (although my original prediction of the 27th is sounding good again lol). 27th or 28th--i have a feeling one of those two will be it. Thats my final prediction.

Ancoda, you should try acupressure yourself if acupuncture is out. It was recommended to me as quite effective, although I think my acupuncture treatment definitely tipped me over the edge! Top tip is to tape a dry mung bean, or something similarly sized, to the points to maintain the pressure.

Best of luck ladies-in-waiting.
