1st time mom with TONS of non-stop braxton hicks

Because this is my first time I really don't know what to expect. I know that every labor is different, but it's shocking to me how many braxton hicks contractions I've been having!
For the last few days they have been every ten minutes or less. Nothing painful (although I've sure been cramping off and on) and they don't change in intensity except for about 2-3 hours in the evening.
I feel like a walking accordion, hard and soft, hard and soft. I am almost 38 weeks, so I have not been doing anything to try and stop the contractions. (I had a similar pattern start up around 36 weeks and I did everything I could to not go into labor then).

I'm feeling a little anxious about getting enough sleep before true labor hits. I only hope that all these contractions are doing something. My mom had this happen with her 3rd and 4th pregnancies, but not her first.
Anyone else getting non-stop practice contractions?

I had the same experience in my first pregnancy and had a great, relatively fast birth!  No worries.

Same here...I have had tons of BH with my previous pregnancies, including my first. I blew the "this many per hour" rule out of the water. It is just how my body works.

I had a TON of bh from early on with my last (first) pg, and by the end I was having them all the time.  I was two weeks late but I had a really quick birth too ...8hrs from the time truly painful contractions that I couldn't sleep through started.
