We are here again! Ds is unschooling at a private school. Multi ages and multi stages school. So far he really likes it. The facilitators are great people and there is plenty of time for him to socialize.

Is this a Sudbury-style school? My older kids are in multi-age, multi-stage school classes with lots of project-oriented and self-directed learning, but I their case it's still clearly schooling. How old is your ds? What was he doing prior to starting at this private school? Glad to hear you've found a good approach for him.

Thanks for the welcome! D.s. is 17 and I would say it was more based on summer hill and free schooling then sunbury. Before he started we were taking a big break from school all together.

Great to have another parent of teens here. My three teens are all in school or college now as I mentioned; my only unschoolers is 10 (going-on-18), but I am still a parent to them. Does your ds have any idea what direction he wants to move in as an adult? Has he identified his passions? My ds16 has a bunch of things he can do well but not really a clear single passion. He's wishing he had a better sense of where to go.

I wish he had an idea of where he is headed. But no. He loves to travel and would love to do that, but other wise...
