Is Screeching a sign of teething?

My 4 month old has been drooling like crazy for the past month, just stopped sucking her fist this week(now puts every toy,etc in her mouth to gnaw on), and for the past week she loudly screeches wherever we go/are. Most of the time it's happy screeching (not squeals) but the past few days it's relentless. Last night she screeched for an hour straight (not crying). I thought she just is testing er voice, etc but I feel like there could be more to this. Is this a sign of teething or no? It's embarrassing to be at church, grocery shopping, etc and her loud piercing voice can be hear over and over. My husband and I are joking that we need to get earplugs. Any advice?

Just adding: Or is this just a normal baby stage that (hopefully?) will pass?

I don't know but ds has been doing that on and off for the last 3 months (since he was 3 months old too) and about 2 weeks ago his first tooth appeared, now a second!

I think they're testing their voice but the teeth are not far behind :P

My first did this at 4 months and didn't get teeth until 9 months. My 4 mo has recently started screeching and has tons of drooling but I doubt he'll grow teeth until closer to a year also. Just a developmental stage! And yes, the screeching does lessen wink1.gif
