Enjoy Easter and exercise more and drink more water to compensate. Moderation in all things. sounds like the bonnet parade would have been fun.

Good morning and good luck! love.gif ^

I still have a night to toss and turn about this. I had a baby last summer and have made MULTIPLE attempts at weight loss. It's really hard while breastfeeding, and it's more than just a will-power issue. I'm going to play around with caloric intake for awhile until I settle on an amount that challenges me toward weight loss but doesn't leave me all famished and dizzy. So I apologize to my team in advance if this adversely affects our total. hide.gif

Because I'm shy, (OK, not really, but definitely about this), I''ll PM my numbers tomorrow. I weigh the most I've ever weighed while not pregnant. This needs to change!

Maybe you could focus on sugar/carbs and not calories?

Thank you. Good luck to you too.

And don't be shy. We're all friends here and all with the same goal.

If counting calories works well for you then carry on :-) but if it's a pain for you like it is for me then maybe you could try the sugar/carbs plan that Micah_Mae suggested. That's more or less what I'm doing and it does work for me when I stick to it:shy. I also measure portions of things like rice, pasta, yoghurt, grapes etc and keep a food diary.

I'll post the diabetes eating plan I got while I was pregnant as soon as I can find a minute to dig it out. I'm using that, with a few modifications, and it does work for me.

Ok, here is the link to the Australian Breastfeeding Association's dietary guide for pregnancy and breastfeeding https://www.breastfeeding.asn.au/bf-info/common-concerns%E2%80%93mum/diet

I tend to eat more protein and more fat than they suggest and fewer grains but it gives me an idea.

When I do my food diary, at the end of each day I count up and write down how many serves of each food group I had. I tend to eat too many grains (for convenience mostly) so I need to focus on getting enough veggies and protein.

I was in the high 160s last week but a visit to my inlaws took care of that. They eat recreationally with bowls of chocolate everywhere and I have no willpower around that kind of stuff. greensad.gif

Today I am 5'6" and 173.4lbs. It's on!!!!

Good luck, great workouts and resolve of steel to all! ;p

Hello!

I'm starting off at 214, which keeps me exactly on track from the last challenge.  One week on, one week off!

If anyone is interested, here's my current plan that I've been sticking to since January

I eat a vegan, gluten free diet- lots of greens and veggies and rice.  I actually eat Chipotle a few times a week, guilt free :)

I go to the gym M/W/F.  M/F I swim one mile, mostly freestyle with backstroke and sprint intervals.  W I have been run/walking on the treadmill. Last week I met my first goal of running 2 miles in 30 minutes.  I'm working to make that stronger before I move on to a new goal.

T/TH and many evenings I try to do a Leslie Sansone walking video. I have a DVD but there are several of varying lengths on Youtube.  I also ice skate and hike and walk with my girls.  I try to get out and do something physical every day.

I'm down 10lbs since New Year and 7 of those were lost during the last challenge.  I'm totally motivated to keep going for these next 8 weeks!

In this corner weighing in at 133.4!!!!  Let's do this thing ladies!  I'm excited for a fresh new start!

WOOHOO!!!  Good morning!!  First official weigh in and I'm ready to go!!

Height- 5'6"

Weight- 181.4lbs

Goal for this challenge- 170lbs

Ultimate goal- 145lbs

I was below 180lbs on Friday morning, but indulged a bit over the weekend, especially with Easter at my parents' bag.gif

My plan of attack:

T/TH/S I do Couch 2 5K.  I'm starting Week 3 tomorrow.

M/W/F I'm adding in strength training this week.

As far as diet goes, we eat "primal-ish".  We're overall wheat (and mostly gluten) free because of an allergy in one of my kids, but we do use "alternative" grains (which I try and limit my intake of).  With gardening season underway, my greens are coming in nicely, so I'm moving towards having a green smoothie almost daily.

Lord have mercy!

Weight : 192

Height : 5'6"

Ultimate goal : 150

Of course I'm not expecting to lose that much in the next 8 weeks. I'd be VERY happy if I can drop to 185!

A loooot of work needs to be done...

HERE WE GO!

@woodchick your post is very motivating! We can do it!

Weight: 183.2

Height: 5'2"

Goal: 140 (although I'd be happy with 150)

Hoping to be in the mid-170s by the end of the challenge!

weight- 154

height- 5'6"

goal- 135-140

as with quite a few of you, I over indulged this weekend...and gained 4 lbs....Yikes.

Good luck everyone!

Today finds me at 139.6.  That is up about two pounds from the end of the last challenge.  I'm not going to beat myself up to much over it because I was recovering from some kind of virus at the end of the last challenge so a weight gain is not unexpected.  I'm ready to go for this challenge and aim aiming to take off at least five pounds this time.

Woodchick, that was an inspiring post.  Making exercise a way of life and purposeful is so important!  I am glad that you have been able to make a constant downward push in your weight loss.

Good morning!!

Height: 5' 3"

Weight: 157

This challenge, I'm hoping to drop down to my previous weight, around 148, which I held for 1.5 years after losing 40 lbs.  I have some bad eating habits I've developing again, and this week I'm going to be pretty severe on myself to "re-boot" my healthier eating habits.  Minimal sugar.  No juice, only fruit (I drink a lot of juice!).  No bread and butter.  More veggies.  Weigh the cheese I pile on just about everything.  Stop eating cheese chunks straight while my cheesy burrito is cooking Sheepish.gif.

Dedicating myself to 30 minutes of exercise 4 times this week will surely help, though I will be counting some of the heavy gardening I've been doing now the weather is nice.  Started the day off by just adding a tsp of sugar to my plain yogurt and frozen berries.  I've been spooning it on heavily recently, when once upon a time I didn't put any sugar on.

Hopefully, this challenge will jump start the 2nd round of weight loss I desperately need.  I'm not sure what weight is best for me to aim for (as if I had a choice!) but somewhere between 125-130.  At my height, every pound is painfully obvious!

I'm in again, I didn't chat much last round but I DID lose some pounds!  I'm slowly taking baby weight off and feeling great.  I don't yet have a final goal because I am feeling pretty ok about weighing more than I use to.  More interested in eating well,  moving, feeling good and reaching a sustainable weight and size again.  I probably will eventually get in the 120's while nursing but maybe not stay there after he weans.  130's is a very sustainable weight for me

Before last challenge I was around 175

Currently 166

5'3.5''

38 bust

31 waist

43 hip

goal during this 8 weeks= 157 (pre pregnancy weight, even though that was high for me and I still should lose some after that)

fitness goal- joining the 1000 minute challenge and making it.  This is the first time in over a year I'll be on that challenge, since before my pregnancy.  i need to move it move it!  I will mostly be doing walks with the baby and my 6 year old, some body weight stuff at home and maybe get away for a couple yoga classes, which I haven't done sinc ehe was born!
