Still lactating TWO years after weaning

I have been reading up on this extensively and from what I can tell, it is still somewhat normal. I am not fully lactating but I still get let downs and I can still express small amounts of breast milk. I do not try to express milk frequently, just to be clear. It's more that every month or so I check to see if I am *still* lactating. The let downs happen when I hear babies cry or sometimes when I'm snuggling with DD (3). I'm just really curious to know what you mamas think or if anyone has experienced this before. Thanks!! :-)

You know, I've always found this really fascinating.  My SIL still had milk (and letdowns) when her youngest was 12 years!  I have no idea if she still does or it stopped, because he's like 16 or 17 now.  But that always blew me away.

Idk if this is common, but certainly not unheard of. A local milk bank here advertises to women such as yourself for donations. Have you considered that? It would be such a gift to women who are medically unable to breastfeed, such as those who've had a double-mastectomy. If that seems unappealing, I'm sure there's more dramatic measures you can take then simply waiting to dry up.

I've heard of breast-binding and even medications, though that does seem extreme.

I can't help but think of you as lucky-- even if it is an incovencience now. It's almost as if you were meant to nurture and mother more than just your own. What a beautiful gift.
